Enjoy the Silver Sneakers group classes. Appreciate the occasional exercise challenges like March Madness for seniors to earn a tee shirt. Like the pot luck community lunches. Like the opportunity to learn new things like pickle ball. The instructors are excellent.
I like your Zumba! I don’t like when the days or times are suddenly changed with no input from members.
Age appropriate and there are classes almost all day long.
It is close to me
Everything is great at the Southwest Omaha YMCA
Something for everyone
Lisa L is a good instructor and we have been to several types of classes with her. She does a good job of watching individuals in the class who might now be as advanced, and providing alternative movements. We also trally like that there is at least one morning with yoga at Southwest (sunrise yoga). We would really like more yoga classes in the morning at your location. We travel to Armbrust often for yoga offered when the SW location doesn't have it.
I live less than a mile to the Armbrust YMCA. But after going there with my grandson several times and being disappointed the last two times we have chosen the Southwest YMCA as our new go to. It’s further away but my grandson enjoys the Southwest better so that’s where we will take him.
I attend Silver Sneakers Classes and I love everything about the classes and staff.
I can find many classes that fit my schedule and needs. The instructors are great and the time goes fast. They are always willing to make adjustments which mean a lot to seniors with restrictions. Everyone is friendly and it is easy to make new friends with a common goal.
I take the active older adult classes and I enjoy them. I believe they provide the information and the right amount of weights, stretching, and balance work I need to stay healthy.
We like our instructor, Jackie.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Good variety of classes.
Love the classes for active older adults. Great instructors!
i love the zumba dance classes. It would be great if you could add a zumba class on Monday which would make a consistent cardio work out on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Great zero entry pool!
It's easy to park and start working out. The staff is friendly and helpful. I truly enjoy the yoga instructors, Linda and McCall. I'm feeling so much better now that I've committed to exercise!

I just love the SW facility even tho I live in Papillion. The trip is so woth it.
Offering childcare makes regularly going to the Y so much more accessible. All of the childcare employees truly love their job and are so good with the kids.
There are group fitness classes at times that are easy to attend and they’ve had a real impact on my strength and endurance.
The instructors are so positive and encouraging and make going to classes a joy.
It’s not just for the young and fit . Instructors are very sensitive to the limitations of seniors …
Excellent instructors who go all out to make classes challenging and enjoyable! Very clean facilities and plenty of equipment to work out on!
Well organized, variety of group exercise classes, clean facility
Enjoy work out programs. It’s good to have a leader to help get the entire group through all the workout routines as they are all challenging.Always friendly environment.
Basketball
I really love the laid back nature of your programs and have enjoyed my time coaching.
I would recommend a couple of things though to make your sports programs even better. I would say to really draw a hard line for players when it comes to the age cut off. There are some kids that play up an age level to stay with a team and a coach from the previous season. It makes is difficult when those players are then playing with others that are even older than the age limit.
Also, I would suggest offering incentives for volunteers (like maybe your child plays for free if you complete all training and commit to a session of coaching). I was a coach for fall soccer and it was a lot of work and there was more training required than I realized and there was quite a bit of work that went into preparations for practices and games. Also, many supplies needed for practice (pinnies, enough soccer balls, cones, etc.) are purchases that come out of the coaches' pockets.
Another idea would be just to send a reminder to all parents at the end of the season that coaches are unpaid volunteers and to encourage having their child write a card of appreciation to them. I think any way that you can have people show appreciation to the people that volunteer their time to make these sports happen will only strengthen the program and encourage coaches to return.
Also, I think it would be helpful to have some of the coaches that know each sport create sample practice plans for those coaches who have never played the sport before. I would be happy to help with this for soccer! I created practice plans that I could share with other coaches. I love the MOJO resource, but I found many of the recommended drills too complex for my players. Creating a supportive community of coaches and maybe even a mentoring program for new coaches would be very helpful.
Feel free to reach out to me if you would like to follow-up on any of this. My name is Name removed and you should have my contact info in the SW branch
I love chair yoga 111 The instructor is a gem!!!
Clean facility, good service

I believe the class is now named “Brain and body. The class size is perfect. The instructors (Heather and Ami) are personable and passionate. I enjoy the class, but I may have to take a breather soon as I have some fiscal management to catch up on.
Thanks for asking for my comments and observations.
