Great program for kids who are beginners
I like the instructors who encourage us to keep moving and the friendships I have made.
There is something for everyone no matter what age or skill set.
The SW Y is so personable, clean and fun. I would recommend it to everyone!!
Dan McCarthy, the instructor for TiaChi at SW YMCA, Omaha, is a blessing & inspiration. Our community is very fortunate to have Dan McCarthy sharing his life experiences, talents, amazing skills, knowledge, intellect, compassion, empathy, .....
Fortunately for me, Joyce Hildenbrandt, Dan hasn't been discovered more widely; otherwise his classes would be over booked and fully filled.
The Y has a great staff - helpful and friendly. Free weights and machines are plentiful and clean. Have been going for decades and wouldn’t go anywhere else. Thank you.
Variety of classes offered
Schedules work really well with balancing life, work and activities. Coaches are really great too.
I enjoy the instructors and the variety of programs available.
All of the regular Zumba instructors--Emily, Alicia, and Lori--are so outstanding at what they do. They make Zumba the most fun I've had working out. I also really enjoy Eve's Bodypump and Mary's Bodypump. They are both good at motivating us. And I also enjoy Group Centergy with Lisa, who is a talented instructor. Actually, all of these instructors are so knowledgeable and encouraging. I really enjoy group fitness classes at the SW YMCA.
I enjoy the variety of classes that are offered ... I have found classes that the times work for me.
Friendly staff and patrons!!
Convenient, clean and many options!!
I love swimming laps.
Programs offered for Parkinsons people. It’s
great!
The instructors are great.
Senior classes are wonderful.
The YMCA feels like a center of the neighborhood/area. Other fitness places have the aura of not being personable. I don't get that vibe at the Y, it's more personal and welcoming. Keep up the good work.
Silver Sneakers.
I love chair Yoga!!!! Martina is wonderful!!!
senior group exercise
They are designed to benefit the appropriate age group. Also nice to meet new people so enjoy the social aspect as well as the physical benefits of the "y"
Dear YMCA staff and administrators:
At age 72, I like to "body build" using the exercise equipment (not free weights).
My physique belies any success in that regard. I will keep trying.
My exercise routing does involve the front desk help, to the extent that
I impart less than meaningful verbiage, both on arrival and departure.
That, to express my thanks, is well received by the front desk.
I can only imagine the thought "What the h___ does that mean?"
when the clerk gives me such a warm and friendly smile.
Southwest Y has a great variety of classes appropriate for older active adults. The instructors are friendly, knowledgeable and capable.
The silver sneakers program. I like it not only because it’s an exercise program geared to my age but I also enjoy the fellowship that we enjoy over coffee which is provided by the Y.
The Silver Sneakers program was suggested by my Oncology Physcian in 2017. It is a life saver for me. The staff and program are an esentual in my life
THE LARGE VARIETY OF PROGRAMS OFFERED
Keeps me healthy! Enjoy the weight machines & ellipticals. Welcoming & responsive staff (if problems arise).
The whole experience is terrific; I don’t think it could get any bettet
Yoga with Melissa and splash pad for kids

This was my children's first time playing basketball and the coaches were patient and understanding. They fostered a team environment and did not put an emphasis on winning, rather having fun and learning the basics of the game. I also appreciated that the coaches had structure to practices and the children learned listening skills as well.
