Clean, functional, quality, nice people

The handicapped changing room near the pool with the handicapped door and walking ramp into lap pool has been a complete life improving tool for recovery.
The YMCA in Williamsburg is a terrific facility. Excellent and professional staff. Very good exercise machines and pools. Super clean.
The YMCA is well managed with friendly staff and a clean environment. The equipment is well maintained and there are plenty of opportunities to attend varied classes or participate in group sports. This is a first rate facility run by a first rate staff.
I loved the pools set up. Children could play year round. I enjoyed the water aerobics class taught by Debra.
I enjoy the sauna , pool , and the whirlpool. The only thing I ask is that the sauna needs to be brought up to temperature before the beginning of business. Sunday’s seems to be the day that it is off when we come in. I have personally had to put the breaker in to get the sauna started on some Sunday's. I am also an electrician and there is a risk to others that find the need to close the breaker themselves. They are 9 out of 10 barefoot or have limited insulation guarding them from ground if an incident were to occur when closing the sauna breaker. Feel free to call me if more detail is needed regarding this hazzard. Bottom line is to have the sauna ready during the start of business hours or lock the panel cover to the sauna breaker so it can’t be accessed by non YMCA staff. Other than that I give you all a 10 out of 10 on the establishment starting with the staff and how it is kept up.

The front desk customer service is outstanding, the facility is always taking care maintenance issues with in normal time frame.
The Y is very convenient and close by.

Well equipped and clean
The variety of equipment and classes offered is the biggest draw for me. An area of concern for me personally though is the lack of hygiene I see in the locker room is eye opening, like not washing hands after using the toilets and going right back out to work out, walking around in bare feet. This behavior could affect us all if something bad spreads through the facility especially now during the contagious winter months. I know folks don't usually pay attention to posted notices but maybe posted signs in the locker rooms would be a start. Also, people not wiping down equipment is another concern but hard to enforce, especially when you see the trainer staff not doing this when training new members.

Friendly environment
This facility just upgraded some of its equipment the last couple years, ample parking, staff is always friendly but best of all, it’s never too busy. Rarely have to wait on desired equipment, unlike other YMCAs.
