Lots of activities to chose from with appropriate starting times. Clean facilities with a nice layout. I love the playground outside as well for the kids! Great family price too!

I enjoy the convenience of the Y, right in the community. The staff are pleasant and helpful and the facility is well cared for. I discontinued my membership at an upscale, all women's facility to join the Y because of it's support of the community, families and youth. I'm glad I belong to the Y and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a well rounded exercise plus facility.

This has happened twice now, though. Everytime my grandson goes swimming the other members pick on him. Yes I let the lifeguard know. Children splash in the pool. How come a member has to pick on my grandson when everyone is doing it. I find this ridiculous.

The classes!!!
Generally, very helpful...overall, staff are very helpful. Always pleasant and striving to provide good customer service.
However, there are two things I want to mention;
1. When I went to the fitness center for my first try, the young man who assisted me, while very helpful, did not seem to understand my dilemma. I have COPD and have difficulty breathing after certain kinds of exertion. Tho I would love to use the rowing machine, it was really difficult for me, as it compromised my ability to get a 'good' breath. He didn't seem to notice that. Needless to say, I don't use that anymore.
2. I called in January 2018 to see about arranging swim parties for my grandchildren. I and my daughter left several messages, as we have children that have birthdays in January and February, and who both wanted a swim paraty. We never heard anything back. It was very frustrating, because we weren't sure whether this Y (Waverly) even had swim parties (we went to one in PA), and were 'holding back' because the grandchildren really wanted to have it.
That's all really. Like I said, overall, everything is very satisfactory. Thank you for the opportunity to comment.

My swim teacher Aaron was very friendly and helpful.
I enjoy the variety of activities offered from rock climbing to swimming. Staff are friendly and patrons are diverse.

The inviting atmosphere, the willingness of people to assist one, the diversity, the selection of classes and activities, and the overall friendliness of the community are several reasons why I feel the 33rd Street Y is a gem.
Great staff!!!
The staff always greet me warmly and the signs that tell you when a machine will be fixed by are thoughtful. Always looks clean and glossy. Overall a friendly and well organized place. New break room is awesome too.
it's a relaxed atmosphere. I feel I fit right in
People of all ages and body shapes work out and it doesn't have the "beauty contest" atmosphere so many private gyms have.
I appreciate having a pool available as well.
I don't mind paying a bit more for my membership ten I would in most private gyms for these reasons and also because I know some of my money goes to the other programming (for kids tec.) that Y does.
Commardarey and interaction with members plus great workerouts especially in the water.
I am 77 years old and attend the evening water fitness class. I have attended foe about7 years and although the instructors and class members have changed . it has been a great experience . I have limtitations in my physical activities all have been supportative and there has never been any judgment .
The instructor has offered alternative exercises to help me get the most out of my workout .and most of all this is such a fun group that I feel really refreshed
