Member Testimonials
Lots of choices, very good instructors.
I love the reliability of safe, secure childcare and the camps. Before we moved to ChesCo, we came from a private, church based daycare in DelCo. The teachers were cliquey, not well trained, and extremely underpaid. The Director would send stream of consciousness insane emails at 2:30 A.M. to the parents about the most insane things. Switching to a bigger facility like the West Chester ymca is Night and Day. It’s so much more professional and supportive and I trust that the teachers and counselors can pass a background check. It’s a literal God send for working families like mine- who rely on childcare.
The options in classes, time they are offered, and variety of programs you offer to all ages
Personal Trainer (Ashon,) is a fine young man and credit to our local "Y". Personable, Pleasant, Professional and effective trainer.
I mostly use the Wellness Center. There is ample equipment and the facility is very clean. Staff is friendly and accommodating.
Great variety of programs for women over 65 with small class sizes and personalized instruction. Trainers are personable and make working out fun. Classmates are warm and friendly, too!
Flexibility in terms of facilities, operating hours, and range of activities that I can do. I am not a "take a class" member -- I like organizing by myself or with small groups.
Many classes to choose from!
Everyone is so nice. It’s like a second home to me, the people at the front desk always make you welcome people at the exercise areas everywhere.
I enjoy the silver sneakers classes
Availability and size of event
I have the flexibility to choose the time and classes that I prefer. There are a different types of classes to choose from also. The instructors that teach the classes that I have chosen are very professionally.
As I age, I’m finding the social aspect of the Y is as important as the physical one. The Y promotes social interactions and I also see it reflected in their leadership and through most individual class instructors.
Looking to the future, I’m hoping to find classes that will help me transition to growing older and staying active. Class offerings that help me balance, learn adaptation skills, and do quality stretching.
I love that you can only sign up for a class 48 hours in advance. That way you're not frozen out of classes if you go out of town or get sick when a class is beginning.
I love the instructors. I just attended Chair Yoga on Sunday (12:05 to 1:00pm) and had Ram Gupta. He was an outstanding Yoga Instructor---absolutely knew what he was doing! The whole hour was a series of stretches, including hand motions and poses. I use a cane and assumed I couldn't do it all, but he demonstrated alternate movements that I could handle. I left feeling really good from the stretches, with no pain at all. He was kind and friendly and very encouraging. Can't wait to go back.
I love that you make efforts to accomodate people in the classes they most want to attend. Lite Strength is fantastic, only held on Tuesday and Weds, and really hard to get in. I'm sure you will be trying hard to set up an additional class soon, since it's so hard to get in and always completely full!
You have the members at heart! Way to run a program! Thank you! (I'm a pretty new member.) Love the Forever Well program and admire the people who run that!
Gym very good equipment, clean, helpful staff
The EGYM is really great!
Varied Classrs

Availability and many options.
Great variety of classes and activities, the class instructors are all very skilled and make the workouts beneficial and fun. As a senior I appreciate the Forever Well offerings. I love the Aqua Fit and Silver Sneakers classes especially.
Your group exercise classes
I’m in my 60’s and enjoy the cardio machines, weight machines, and the e-gym. My only complaint is that some people don’t wipe their machines and sometimes there are loud people (middle school aged kids carrying on and some adults). I wear headphones and can still hear them unless I crank them up.
The exercise classes; I like the teachers and the availability of classes
Facility is kept clean.
I was disappointed to see many parked in the handicapped spots without proper tags as a parent of a child that has a physical disability this is upsetting. When we asked about it we were told it is not enforced nor monitored.
Love the variety of classes, class times, and flexibility. There is something for everyone.
Great classes, wonderful e-gym, great instructors
We use the exercise equipment and group classes and are at the Y every day. We are in our 80's and count on our activities at the Y to Keep us healthy.

My child loves the summer camp and the activities offered! She has made some good friends and loves the activities and camp coaches at Y.
