When you finally get help after being told you live to far from the city, when it really isn’t, then nurse next door arrives!
Katie does her job and if she sees something that should be done.
And do it even it not her job which helps people with limited mobility in a big way..

The nurses are awesome and very helpful. They do their job very well and make sure that everything is ok before leaving.
I was told upon being discharged on Thursday Oct 20th that my dressing was to be changed daily. I bought the package of dressings provided by VGH to the Shoppers store at Oak & 12th.
On Saturday Oct 22nd, the first nurse said it all looked ok and didn’t change the bandage Sat, Sunday or Monday. The 2nd nurse also did not see any reason to change the dressing on Tuesday. By Wednesday I pointedly requested the dressing be changed.She refused, said it wasn’t part of the service she was required to provide. She would have done a load of wash or taken the garbage out or washed dishes, but not change my dressing. I told her I was told it was to be changed daily. She phoned a supervisor & left a voice mail. Then she phoned someone else, who answered the call & eventually it was decided she’d change the dressing. BUT, the person she’d left a voicemail for called back & there was more discussion. Finally (with input from me) it was again decided the dressing would be changed, and it was.
I hired Nurse Next Door to change the dressing daily, per the hospital verbal & written instructions. Having my temperature taken, oxygen level and lungs checked was not something the hospital required upon discharge. And frankly I was quite able to do minimal household tasks & did not hire or need to hire anyone to do them. I very definitely hired Nurse Next Door to ensure my surgical incision on my back wasn’t infected and that would be obvious when the dressing was changed.
I will not be recommending Nurse Next Door to anyone.
Staff very professional and patient when schedule had to be adjusted multiple times.

The nurses were very efficient and very friendly.
For the most part they were on time with just a few times coming early and once coming late.
We learned how to use the dialysis machine, which the nurses set up for us.

The quality of work done by the nurses is very high. However of late there have been several cancellations. This has resulted in difficulty moving the solution bags from storage to the bedside. They are too heavy for me to move comfortably.

I love to cook, and I found it hard to stand back and let someone else do their thing in my kitchen - such as it is, these days. Other than that, they were terrific and I wish they were still coming here, every day! I miss’em!!
Unreliable, service time always changes to a later time which is very frustrating
