What a delightful experience. Volunteer First name removed gave me the full tour. The ladies at the desk were so friendly to me and to everyone who walked in. The facility is fantastic. There was a postivie energy to the whole place. And the setting is lovely with the trees and trails out the back.
I am taking a ceramics class and am truly enjoying the class. Instructor is excellent. I enjoy the social aspect of the class.

I have been a member for 15 years. I have always enjoyed staff and activities over the years.
However recent changes to the facility have been met with mixed reviews pn the part of the older members. New tables are too big, new chairs are way too heavy and the requirement to have all games in the dining room is way too noisy.
All of this was done without considering the needs of older adults… you core population.

I have been a member of the Allen Senior Recreation Center for over four years now. I enjoy the friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff and volunteers found at the front desk & throughout the facility. The building is very attractive with a homey feel making it easy to feel comfortable in. I especially enjoy the ceramics class I have been in for the past four years also. It's so much fun & truly rewarding. The Center has so many classes available, but I'm stuck on ceramics. Thank you ASRC for giving me something to look forward to each week.

Nice environment. Friendly staff. Great classes are offered for many different interests. Senior exercise classes are offered with great Instructors. Meaningful events and speakers are scheduled occasionally.
This Senior Center is a great selling amenity for the City of Allen.
Great yoga and walking track
Friendly people fun game. Need more van assessable wheelchair parking. Never can find a space. Just cause you are old doesn’t mean you need a wheel chair space. I Do

You make friends . All believe exercise is very important. Some times there is entertainment .
I enjoy the center. However, whoever ordered the chairs for the multipurpose rooms where the yoga classes are held really should have asked for input before ordering. The chairs are hard, too heavy for most of the elderly, and do not slide on the floor. The chairs in the dining area are also heavy and do not slide on the carpet. You are catering to an older age group and need to consider this in purchasing furniture not just how it looks.
I love that the facility is clean, the employees are very personable, wonderfully helpful, and just genuinely good people. I like the amenities and how many options there are and how it really feels like a center for community involvement.
