clean, safe, not crowded. However, I don't understand why the indoor pool is closed when there's a storm. I could understand if it was an outdoor pool but why does an indoor pool have to be closed during a storm?

The Downtown Durham YMCA is a great location for downtown dwellers. The facility is well run and the staff are welcoming and helpful. A very enjoyable place to workout. My husband and I have been members for 20+ years.

I enjoy the variety of classes offered and the instructors and knowledgeable, patient and kind.
My only concern is the AC unit in the studio has been broken since I joined.
That makes the classes a little difficult at times.
I like the fact that it has everything that I need to get my workout on to get a nice swim experience if that’s what I want to do that day the water aerobics and the classes are great. The people there are very friendly and I’ve never had an issue.
I primarily use the pool but like the variety of equipment (track,.gym) and classes. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I also like the women's locker room with private showers and dressing rooms to accommodate various levels of modesty.
Location and staff on the front desk make you feel welcome, Classes are great instructors and great.

The YMCA is wonderful! I do with however that there were more benches in the gym area as they get full pretty quick. I also wish there were more bands to use for assisted pull-ups or push-ups and some blocks for deadlifts and RDL’s
