The locker room and pool facilities are very nice. I wish there were more wall hooks inside the pool area. I bring a small mesh bag with my swim things and towel.
Would love more swim/water aerobics/fitness/zumba pool workouts. Heidi is wonderful.
I have been a Y member for about 40 years. I am familiar with the facility and know a lot of the staff. It’s my place to exercise.
I use only the YMCA pool at Meadowmont, and I like EVERYTHING about it!
I wish only that the pool opened earlier in the season, say May 15: and even more important stayed open later in the season, say Sept 30.
It's a wonderful facility, well maintained, well managed, with great lifeguards, refreshing water that is not too hot and not too cold.
Here's another tongue in cheek suggestion, from an impossible wishlist, but since adults and children share the big pool it would be so pleasant if the pool was scream-free and the age old game of Marco Polo could only be played with soft voices.

It’s convenient to our home, and we like the new expanded hours.
Clearwater: counselors were interactive, paid attention safety with pick up and drop off, lost and found easily available, I liked they used meaning behind earning beads and rewarding system. It really motivated my son and he wanted to earn more at home. He also came home with lots of riddles which mean he was engaged. He came home filthy everyday, which I loved (and hated?!) because I know he had fun outside!
Suggestion: the entrance in/out was terrible with the gravel and pot holes/uneven ground, made it hard for cars to be turning in and out at same time
Perry Harrison- he liked it, came home with loads of beads but said he didn’t need to earn them, they just gave them away so I preferred the Clearwater for the structure of this.

Variety of programs available
This is our kids' favorite summer camp! They have so much fun spending time with their friends and talking with counselors. They love all the options available for activities (fishing, canoeing, gaga, 9 square) and come home each night, exhausted and ready to recharge for the next day!
My kids had a wonderful time at Camp Clearwater! The Director, Kaitlyn, was extremely helpful and quick to respond to all of my questions.
The camp counselors were very responsible, the activities were age-appropriate, the kids came back home, having had a wonderful day, every day.
Camp Clearwater provides outdoor fun for kids without screens and electronics. It is so great to counter balance everything that is put ibto kid's lives. Our son absolutely loves it.

My kids both LOVE this camp. They have so much fun that they get mad if I pick them up early. I love it too - it's outdoor and active, and the counselors are all upbeat and kind and playful. I love that the hours are generous so I can actually pick up and drop off before and after work. I love that they get to go to a pool. It's just such a great option for us, honestly not sure what we would do without it (but I know it wouldn't be as good).
The YMCA in Chapel Hill is a friendly place with lots of good fitness classes, pickleball, pools, weight machines, etc.
Have enjoyed being able to take my water aerobics class outside this summer at Meadowmont.New policy on attendance- very encouraging that the classes are kept at a proper size.
Camp Clearwater is so fantastic. My kids love it; the counselors are dedicated, energized, creative. Well done!
Our son has been to Camp Clearwater every summer for the last 5 years. The hours work with our schedule and the outdoor activities suit his personality. The Counselors have helped him grow. I am not going to say that he has wanted to go every day, but every summer he chooses Camp Clearwater.

Classes are great. Instructors are helpful and not judgmental. All staff I have met are friendly and approachable. Clean facilities too.
since YMCA implemented the class registration process, I'm hesitant to register for class early due to fear of having a bad record for withdrawing from the class the morning of the class.

YMCA Camp Clearwater is one of the most amazing day camps we have experienced. The counselors are incredibly kind, supportive, and always willing to help, making every child feel welcome, safe, and included.
My son, Pratham, attended the camp for the past two summers, and he absolutely loved every moment of it. He looked forward to going each day and always came home excited to share stories about the activities, games, and friendships he made. The camp offers a wonderful balance of fun, learning, and outdoor adventures, which helped him build confidence, independence, and social skills.
What impressed me most was the caring and enthusiastic staff, who truly go above and beyond to ensure that every child has a positive experience. As a parent, it was reassuring to know that he was in such a nurturing and engaging environment.

My son enjoys most of the camp counselors and the activities he is able to do throughout the day. It is very nice with drop off and pick-up that the counselors always know his name, regardless how long its been since he has attended camp.
The people (staff) are FANTASTIC! So positive, they make personal connections, always friendly and ready to hear feedback and solve problems. Great squad!
