The Y is part of my community -- a reliable and friendly place where I can work out to keep in shape for my passion -- hiking -- and other activities still possible after almost 80 years of life.
The staff and counselors are awesome and I’m happy my son is engaged and having fun during the summer.

I love the variety of choices the hours, the friendliness. the family of the Y.
The walking space above the gym, the non jets part of the hot tub, the part with the jets is too hot for me so I am very thankful of the non-jet half. And for me, the showers!! The thick stream and almost gentle water pressure is just AWESOME!!!! The best part though is how friendly and eager the staff is to help with anything that pops up and if they can't solve it they will go get someone who can and then come and find us to let us know that they either told someone who can solve it or that they fixed it themselves. There is always closure. Awesome customer service! I feel that they are a perfect reflection of the manager, Toby. He is always available to help us and he also seems genuinly happy to be visible to the patrons and interacts with us on a daily and regular basis. I wish that none of the staff ever leaves the center. Gregory always sets the scene with his always happy to see us attitude. I am always impressed how he can remember so many of the guests names. Gregory always says good morning, how are we today and have a great workout with the nicest smile. Not only is Toby a great example for the staff but he has assembled a wonderful staff that follows his example. I usually take my Mom the Y Monday thru Friday but sometimes we need a boost of moral on the weekends and we add Saturday at the Y to the beginning of the day. Sometimes we go just to talk to the staff because they're happy attitude is always contagious. I know folks move on but I am happy to enjoy them when we can. We, my Mom and I, are very grateful to have a place to go and it's a great beginning to our day. Thanks to everyone of the staff members for this wonderful place to go to and to enjoy ourselves and others. Because of the friendly atmosphere Toby has created, it creates a space where other patrons become friendly as well. I have never had so many folks that I don't know says good morning or some that I have only seen a couple times but they remember me and ask how I have been because they haven't seen me for a few days. Some of them I don't even remember seeing before. What a great feeling to have this happen to me and I am sure this happens to others as well. It has encouraged me to say hi to others and I have made some good acquaintences at the Y. Its a wonderful place to be!

My kid loves the activities familiar faces. I like the convenience. Price is reasonable.
The days/hours of childcare accommodate working families who actually work all-day jobs. Also, like that there is a CIT program that offers work experience/supervision for kids that age out of the day camp programs. Not all tweens are ready to stay home all day by themselves during the summer. Also think that it's nice that place is open for free to kids during the summer so they have a chance to hang out together in a safe space.
My son, Terrance Last name removed, is enjoying day camp at the Y. We are regular visitors to the Y and last year when he was 4 years old he was sad that he was not old enough to participate.
This year he is having the best of times at camp with the many fun activities and the cool friends that he is meeting and enjoying camp with. He will be there every other week until summer ends. Last week was his first week. He would have started sooner but we were on vacation. Keep up the good work as Terrance is looking forward to more fun days at Day Camp.

We had pur son in the specialty boys gymnastics camp. It was very beneficial for him. I would suggest making it clear from the beginning as to what behavior is allowed and tolerated versus what isn't. Some of the boys did not seek to understand it was a class and not a play camp.
Filled with activities. Fun games, outdoor playtime with lots of physical activities, swimming, art activities. No screen time. Counselors and staff are amazing. Scholarship availability was a VERY BIG help to me. Thank you so much all around Lakewood YMCA❤️
