My toddler and I have a membership at the Lakewood Y. I’m really happy with the child watch. Some of the staff members have been there the entire time we’ve had our membership which is great for consistency. They do arts and crafts with the kids and other engaging activities like reading books. We also participate in the programming (gymnastics and swim). I wish the sessions were continuous or longer for consistency.
I love the new upgrades to the weight room and nautilus weights. The room is bright and open and there’s some new options- Glute drive. Yay! I also like that the two nautilus rooms are divided by upper and lower body.
The Y staff is mostly welcoming and ready to assist. The membership is pricier than any other locations I’ve lived so I try to maximize by participating in programs.

Lakewood YMCA is MY HAPPY PLACE!!! I absolutely love visiting and working out in the pool. Ann is my most favorite instructor ever, you can feel her energy when she enters the pool room and I know I'm going to get an amazing workout. I love the music she plays. She encourages you! The other instructors are great too! I have lost over 100 pounds since coming to the Y!!! It feels so good to be active. Oh and they give out hugs, such a happy friendly environment that my soul needs!!!

Loved the Sound Bath class! Please, add more to the schedule, maybe a 7:15 class in the evening.

But please don't sell junk food/candy at the snack bar
(and it makes the Y look terrible).
You might say it's run by an outside organization.
That may be true, but listen, ultimately you're in charge

I enjoy the fact that I am able to do different things while I am at the gym. Depending on my needs and mood at the moment. I like Zumba, walking, treadmill.

The Lakewood Y has very friendly and helpful staff. The classes I take have very professional personnel. The Y is always clean. It's convenient to my house. Although fully occupied, I can always find parking. There are refreshments for purchase if needed.
I have been going to the YMCA on and off for the past 30-40 years depending on what state I was in at the time. In ever YMCA that I have been a part of i have always been treated nicely. I love the staff and all the amenities. I will always be a YMCA woman! 😊❤️
