Inclusivity
The ability to be able to enroll my kids and niece in swim lessons has helped them tremendously. All three learned so far how to swim and to not be afraid of the water!

Coleen at membership was awesome she made me and my family feel very wanted and respected. And she new her job very well!
I took a cycling class with Rebecca through the Summer Series and loved it! The class was challenging but fun and it had lots of variations in moves during the class which kept things interesting. The 45 minutes few by! Rebecca encouraged us to listen to our bodies and kept the positive words coming! I would definitely recommend trying one of her classes! The Y was also clean and welcoming. The check in process as a guest was super quick and easy and I never felt any sales pressure like I have at other gyms I have tried this summer. I would recommend giving the Lakewood YMCA a try if you've been thinking about it!
The YMCA has been phenomenal for our son this summer. He likes it a lot more than standard daycare. Job well done
My family appreciated everything Jolene offered, her attitude, welcoming voice/tone was incredible. She explained everything so well. That was awesome. Jolene is the best!
Everyone involved in the day camp is amazing including the counselors and counselors in training and even the other kids. My child has made some great friends and loves his time at camp.
Safe, fun, and engaging for my child. She asks if she can go to day camp everyday.
We like everything about it - the schedule, the option for themed weeks, and knowing our child is safe and entertained.
They have a lots of classes for the kids
Swimming lessons, gymnastics ballet, basketball, volleyball, soccer and piano classes, I have my daughter in swimming lessons since she was 6 months old now she is 7 and she can swim very good and she loves all different instructors that she has from her different sports, rain or shine there’s always something to do.

All the instructors are genuinely welcoming and helpful! No matter what class you take, you can expect the same positive energy and expertise.

The Lakewood YMCA is wonderful. All the classes and teachers are so professional and knowledgeable and we even have a great time exercising!! Also there is always someone in the office to talk or report anything any concern.
At the Y folks like me enjoy staying active while having chance to catch up with old friends and meet new ones .The Y and the diverse activities/ programs it offers truly focus on the well being of individuals, family and the by community as a whole.
Your swim instructor Tricia is amazing! You are very lucky to have her!
COMPLAINT:
WHAT ABOUT GARY??
Unsolicited interactions and LOUD “one sided” conversations on gym floor,
controlling and predatory behavior.
Concern: Annoyance and frustration felt by other gym patrons about disruption of “gym atmosphere” and of personal workouts. Gary can be heard speaking continuously through the loudest volume settings using headphones personally and all over the gym.
This situation needs to be addressed with Gary by management. Others have told me that it happens on a daily basis. It makes everyone uncomfortable and people feel “targeted” by him.
“Content” of his unsolicited interactions can also be uncomfortable, as the subject matter he solicits at other gym patrons to is highly personal and has no place at the gym or anywhere else; it is opinion and it is private. Gary appears to be very “entitled” in his nature to “share” his opinions with everyone.
Upon reporting this incident, it appears that the staff here is well aware of Gary and obviously have encountered complaints about his behavior; they told me his name and that he “blesses” them all on his way out. He does this to control the staff - as this “blessing” further intimidates them from acting to preserve the integrity of the gym.
Please address this; possibly get outside upper management involved.

We love the conveniece of having all the activities that the Y provides. The staff is very kind and helpful and the hours make it easy to adapt our workouts to any change in out schedule.
