There is so much more summer daylight in the early hours of the day that it seems like a big waste of valuable weekend time to wait for the Y to open when it does.
The exercise classes are great - for all fitness levels. I was not active until last fall when I started with the silver fit classes and now I am able to take more strength and cardio classes. My husband also started at the Y this spring and we have been working with trainer, Marissa Atkinson, which has helped us with our cores. Our daily chores and weekend projects to maintain our home have become so much easier and less dangerous since we have strengthened our cores. We are amazed at how good we feel and how much stronger we are. Thank you to the YMCA team for helping us get fit in our "golden years".
The "Y" has a good assortment of equipment and free weights for their members. The staff is friendly and helpful. The Y also offers classes and organized sport for members to take advantage of if they do wish.
I just started going there after almost 3 years of attending a small CrossFit gym, so my input is just from first impressions. I only visited less than 10 times so far. Equipment is very clean and up to date. Weights are adequate. Staff is friendly.

I would like to see more inclusive classes and spaces for children and adults with developmental disabilities.
I would also appreciate a heads up when the pool is going to be closed. I drive my autistic son 30+ mins from NE Tacoma to come to your facility. So when we arrived on Saturday to find a paper sign just inside the door notifying us the pool was closed, that was hard.. An email notification with pool closure in the subject line is best.
Incredible facility with very friendly staff and great classes! Love the child care hours and length and am very impressed with the equipment!
