Walking
Everything- I was greeted so nicely- the equipment was great … the only thing I could say is the lockers in locker room are looking a little weathered - rust / worn. But again I felt very welcome there.
The front desk people are very friendly. They greet you as you come in and as you leave. The track has wide panoramic windows, so it's not as boring as walking or running on a track where there is little view outside. The pool is massive and seems open a lot more than other Y's pools. The parking is very difficult, unfortunately, especially on days when there is an event like kids' basketball.
I love the aquatic exercise classes!
David D hunting ymca is really top notch!! The best of the best!!! The only place better would be Disney world. (Or maybe the Mary free Bed Ymca.)
The friendliness.
Love the windows and views of downtown. Love the diversity in every way - age, class, abilities, race/ethnicity. Very friendly feel. Free coffee. Great classes (especially WERQ!)I love it all. My only minor complaint is the touch screens on the elliptical machines often seem to be on the blink. About fifty percent of the time the first machine I try I cannot get the buttons to be responsive. My all time high was not getting a machine to work appropriately until the 5th one I tried. The ellipticals are the only machines I’ve had trouble with.

The positive energy and atmosphere!
The greeting staff says Hello when you enter and says Goodbye when you leave. The third floor staff will assist you by handing out basketballs or jump ropes or they will explain how to use a certain machine.
The members cooperate with each other to help spot someone when they are lifting or to count when they are getting their reps.
The cleaning staff is particularly fussy. It is always clean in the bathrooms and in the workout area.
The pool
The DDH team is always welcoming and they offer a wide variety of classes as well as machines and workout options. They are also a great place for childcare!! They offer infant through preschool, summer camp, after school care, as well as a variety of classes! There is something for everyone at David d hunting.
Staff is friendly and helpful
It was amazing! Our coach was always encouraging and boosted my son's confidence at every practice.

The David D. Hunting Y is a wonderful facility. My husband and I live withing walking distance so we often choose to walk there when the weather is nice. I work 3rd shift, so I also like that the Y is open so early and I can go as soon as I get out of work at 6am. I miss towels being available, but I have to say, without them the locker room appears much neater because folks don't leave their own towels lying on the floor when they leave. My husband and I are proud to have such a great facility with friendly, courteous staff in our city. Keep up the great work folks.
One very minor thing... The landscaping and trees around the property don't look properly maintained and it really doesn't fit with how great everything else is about the facility. The trees smaller trees in the parking lot sidewalk area really need some pruning to trim back lower suckers and limb up some of the branches for the trees to look better as they continue to grow. The lawn could use some type of "Weed Man" service as well. The stones that are by the West Side service door cement ramp are frequently spilling into the sidewalk area. That area could use a nice planting with a bit of a retaining wall running North along the sidewalk. I often see school busses loading and unloading there and it would be nice to offer a bit wider sidewalk where the grass is worn away. Again... These are just minor points because the facility itself is fantastic. Just a few suggestions for consideration. Again... Keep up the great work. You folks are Awesome!
Location, free parking, friendly and helpful staff, clean, good equipment, pool, sauna and hot tub, and open hours.
Love the atmosphere, equipment that always seems to work and beautiful facilities.
A bit crowded and some odd restrictions on the water slide schedule (which was the main reason we came). The parking is obviously a problem with those narrow spaces. Overall, a nice complement to our usual Mary Free Bed Y.
