Friendly, welcoming staff and a great facility.
Some need to improve items are:
- Every pickle ball net is taped together or has a cracked union. It's time for these to be replaced, some are many years old and get used a lot.
- A number of the older machines have cracked or torn (black vinyl) cushion covers. They have been like this for quite a while.
Do you have an inspection / repair process for equipment to identify things like above?
The Mary Free Bed YMCA is well equipped and has everything I need to follow through with recommended PT activities.

The Best Y! My only criticism is the shower curtains are too short, and you can see them on either side of the curtain because they are too short (width) and don't provide full coverage. Besides that tiny issue, this is the best Y. Plenty of weights and space, and I LOVE the huge ceiling fan (which seems like a large helicopter blade) that continuously spins, churning the air throughout the building.
Its very clean, & friendly, & well set up...(not alot of crowding on machines) & easy parking;
Front desk people are helpful as well as the general client. A place where I feel welcomed & safe & encouraged to be healthy.

The staff is very accommodating and even the other members are so friendly.
Lisa Eldersveld and Sue Wilson are FANTASTIC water fitness teachers and just plain wonderful people.
I also appreciate the diversity at the Y. You will find old, young, all ethnicities, chubby, skinny, able bodied, physically challenged, fit, and trying to get fit. Everyone is welcomed and accepted.
Oh, and the facility is also terrific!
It offers everything you’d want for working towards good health and exercise.

The staff at the front desk welcomed us warmly and answered our questions about where to put our coats. The facilities are clean and beautifully accessible for my elderly dad.

My husband and I both enjoy the YMCA. I enjoy the aquafit classes. He enjoys the exercise equipment and track. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Everything is kept clean.
My kids have been taking swim lessons for the past 18 months. They’ve gone from level one to level 5/6 in that time. It’s been fun to watch their skills grow!
