This gives kids an opportunity to play on a team for a sport they love just like other sports that are more widely available like baseball and basketball. My son also made a travel team and got to play at some of the nicest courses in our area. We didn’t know how to pursue my sons love of golf so he could continue to grow in the sport and potentially make his high school team, until we found this.
I appreciate the positive experiences the coaches bring to the program. Our family as been apart of the Jr PGA family since 2010, and the program has reinforced key values that can be used on the course, or in the classroom.

We really enjoyed PGA Jr. League Southern Gayles! There was a lot of hands-on instruction and guidance. It helped my son to build confidence in his golf game and we had a ton of fun!
The only thing I would like to see change is the rule that the kids have to walk. We played on some very hot days and walking was a lot of the kids. Also because the kids have to walk the pace of play is a lot slower. The championship was fun but needed to be played on more holes or split, it was a LONG day and we had to wait at every hole for the team ahead of us.
The format was fun and not too overwhelming for my 8yo who had never played a real round of golf before. He had a great time and it built his interest in the sport and his confidence in himself.
great way to introduce youth to the sport in a team environment so it doesn’t intimidate them they aren’t all on their own, they have teammates to rely on, but also get along with and encourage.

The PGA Jr. League has been an absolute success in teaching the children structure! I love how the kids get the shirts and hats which looks amazing but also have them feeling good about going to practice, where they are learning from one another and having fun with their new friends!

Coaches are great, kids are for the most part very honest in score keeping and it’s a really fun family atmosphere. Chris and Deb run a great program!
