The friendly and helpful atmosphere and all of the wonderful classes and members and the staff.
We love the Y! If I could change one thing it would be to keep kids club open about 5 minutes after the end of classes. When I come on Saturday's (specifically for extreme hip hop step), i'm unable to finish the class and stretch at the end because I have to pick up the kiddo at the same time. Finishing a class does alot for participants. I miss out on cooling down, stretching and in general the feeling of accomplishment you get at the end of a good workout. It's all cut short because of a few minutes. Please consider keeping kids club open an extra 5 to 10 minutes.
Very good team
We really enjoy the family friendly environment. There are only a few rude jerks in the gym who spew profanity and act like gym jocks. We feel like we can bring our youngest son here and he won't be exposed to a bunch of gross behavior. I also love the warm greetings. And the casual chats with the staff. I would have given the Y a 10, but I struggle with the pool policies. The way the old ladies demand that the ENTIRE pool be reserved for their water aerobics class is ridiculous! Seriously - they are very - very clearly NOT using the entire pool. They are all standing in the shallow end. I find it laughable that anyone would enter a pool and fear getting wet. Seriously - they get into a pool at the YMCA (the Y stands for YOUTH) and they don't want to get wet or to be near children. . . I am not one of those moms who takes her child everywhere or believes that children should have the right to enter "adult" spaces at will. But seriously - these ladies are at the Y and they don't want to share with children? May the children reserve the pool for multiple hours during the day and keep the old ladies out? I think not! I have watched them linger in the pool and give the children dirty looks for splashing and being children in the pool long after their reserved time is up. They act like grumpy tyrants and your policies encourage their behavior. This is an intergenerational organization. I truly think you should reconsider your policy. Yes - I know these ladies help pay the bills, but living up to your mission statement helps keep hypocrisy from sneaking in. Our children are watching and actions speak much, much louder than words!
It's a clean facility with very friendly, helpful staff.
The first time you were able and you had to do something about the situation you had
