My frustration is with the following:
I bought my Trek Emonda SL6 from new in January at the Sheen shop.
By July the chain and cassette needed replacing (being told the sort of chain on it should not have been put on the bike in the first place). This being done at the Sutton workshop.
By October the chain needed two replacement links put into it.
Three weeks later a whole new chain needed to be put on (being told (again) that the replacement chain should not have been put on it); and, having bought a bike with Ultegra gears because it had Ultegra gears, the cassette was replaced with a 105 cassette.
Whilst I appreciate such parts are subject to wear & tear it is frustrating that the rate of deterioration has been as rapid as it has. I ride between 80 and 120 miles a week and make a big effort to maintain and clean such parts on a regular basis.
