Bicycle Cove had what I needed in stock. Their knowledgeable staff answered all of my questions.
Just purchased a 2022 FX 3 last week that specs say comes with Shimano disk brakes; however, mine came with Promax. I think this should have been mentioned by the sales staff and I be given the option to see if you had another bike in stock (maybe boxed) that had Shimano? In other words, I feel I should have been made aware of this change before purchase and given an option of choice. I did not know of this change until I brought the bike home and was comparing my bike to pictures on Trek's website and noticed my the brake difference.
I have read many articles and the Promax brakes do not rate as well as the Shimano and if I were given a choice I would have selected the Shimano since this is what I thought I was purchasing in the first place.

The service took a very long time, one month for two bikes. That would have been okay if I was expecting it, but I was expecting a week or two. Also one of my derailleurs came back shifting poorly. I had to spend some time on it myself afterward to get it shifting well.

I highly recommend Bicycle Cove in Madison if you are looking for a great buying experience...especially as newcomer. My wife and I decided it was time to get out there and get moving again and wanted a low impact way to begin. We visited this store and the highly knowledgeable staff a few times before making the decision to buy. They went above and beyond to inform us and NOT to oversell us. They made sure we understood our options and made sure we purchased the bicycles that were right for us.
