Very friendly staff
I have come into the Waverly Y twice, to enquire about membership. The second time, I spoke to a person at the desk—NOLA—who took the time to find out what my needs were, to recommend certain instructors and classes, and to give me a tour of the facilities. In short, she made me feel welcome as a individual. I have had two free visits since, and have now joined my wife's membership.
Had Nola been my only contact, this recommendation would have been a 10. But my first contact, a man who wore a mask and lowered it only briefly and reluctantly when I told him I need to read lips, was nothing like so welcoming. He told me that I should go online to find the answer to my questions.
As a first contact, this experience was no more than a 3 or 4. I could have averaged Nola's 10 with the other man's low score, but that would not be fair to the quality of what she provided. So 9 it is!

Fitness, classes water session
I like the atmosphere. I like what they offer for family time, teen time, and the gym time. Honesty I was scared to go to the gym and work out. I couldn’t find one my 12 year old could go to. The Y was the perfect match for us to workout and bond together. He loves the gym for basketball. It’s great for when it’s raining and you need a place to take the kids. My 4 year old can’t wait to be 5 and do the climbing wall.

I love the Weinberg Y!!! This is a great location, with lovely people and a nice vibe. I appreciate the consistency with pool hours (for lap swimming especially) and lifeguards, the text communication regarding schedule changes, and the work done to keep machines up to date and working well. I do wish they would bring back more early morning Body Pump classes; prior the pandemic we had a 5:45am class 3-4 days per week, but now it's only on Wednesdays. More options would definitely help, as the Body Pump classes which are currently running (at any time of day) are consistently filled-up (to the point that often there is not adequate equipment for the people in attendance). Thanks for being such an important part of our community.
The Y is the best family experience ever
I live 7 minutes from the Waverly Y. I like the cardio dance class that Latoya teaches on Saturday mornings. It's very professional, well thought out and the perfect level of cardio. However, during the week, I drive to Towson because the morning class schedule there is so much better. Teachers there start class on time (unlike Linda and Alice) and the classes are challenging. Come on, Waverly!!

The Waverly Y is great gym at a great location. The Y also provided wonderful summer daycare when my kids were young and I am happy to continue to support that program.
Staff are friendly and responsive. Recent work to organize the equipment closets is much appreciated- it is safer, speeds up prep for group classes, and gives the right impression to new people.

I love it here! The employees are so friendly and knowledgeable. Patient too. The environment is comfortable enough for everyone to feel at home. This is a wonderful place. I’m glad to have joined.
There polite they have an program that helps go by income so your family can still access the wonderful fitness center and activities they offer 90 minutes for small children Day care so you can work out in peace also good parking safe.
Great range of classes, including classes for seniors. I appreciate the community of people I’ve met at the Y. Linda Smith inspires me to keep working toward my fitness goals; more classes from her would be amazing (I love her Aqua fitness and Everfit classes). Thanks to Alice and Rochelle, too, for their Everfit and Aqua fitness classes. Appreciation to the front desk staff for their friendliness.
