Plenty of classes for cardio and strength training that are at convenient times during the day. Friendly people
the clean well equipped facility. The friendly staff, the ease of getting there from where I live.
Can work around my schedule and provide strength as well as aerobic exeerrcise.
Inclusion for all. Clean, friendly. Loved my swim instructor.
My son has been working out on the weight machines and swimming laps in the pool and did really well in the Maryland Special Olympics Summer Games. He was on the swim team. Thank you!
I found the staff at the Y to be very friendly and knowledgeable. I wanted to avoid the "gym bro" experience you find at other gyms. The Orokawa Y is very family-friendly. I felt comfortable walking in to work out. At other gyms, I felt very out of place, like I was too old to be there.
My flex classes make my head and body feel so good
Clean facility. Excellent trainer. Good variety of work out areas and a pool!
The staff is always friendly and helpful. I have a family member who visits and uses the pool and has questioned why it appears to not have been cleaned for a while but overall I’ve found the facilities cleaned and well maintained.
Availability of yoga classes.
They are popular and could use more space and overall classes.
Outstanding facility and kind, engaged staff
It’s so easy to go in and work out. There are plenty of machines available, a small room for working out as well. Parking is super easy & the staff is very nice.
Excellent programs.
varied activities
The facility is always clean and inviting. The staff is helpful. It’s always something engaging going on at this location.
The people who work at the Y in Towson are very friendly and helpful. The temperature of the pool (83F) is terrific! Other pools that are even a degree colder are just unpleasant for me.
To be clear, I have been twice to the Towson Y and once to the Catonsville....but that is my impression so far.
The staff is very courteous and extremely helpful.
One of the things that I really miss is the steam room that we had at the old Y-in just a few minutes you had a great sweat going instead of ten to twelve minutes-what a great feeling !
Great
Love eGym. Wish you would add eGym abducter/adducter machine!!
The Orokawa Y is one of the best community centers in the Baltimore area. The gym equipment and exercise classes are great, but what really keeps me coming are all the other resources available: charging stations for electric vehicles, childcare, places to sit and work at a computer, and now the outdoor splash pad. The only thing(s) I wish the Orokawa Y had more of is charging stations, and guest passes to get more people to come!
Very professional, amd the process went smoothly
I love going to the Y. However, I find some of the classes I take are way too crowded. Some require a coupon to participate but that is not always endorsed. Many manage to take the class even without a coupon. That tells me the class is popular but perhaps there should be more like it. I would also like to see more classes geared to the older adult. Perhaps a class similar to body pump but more conducive to the senior. Seniors need to build bone to prevent osteoporosis, and the best way is through weightlifting but not as vigorous as body pump. I have been going to the Y a very long time and most of my peers tend to be close to my age. I don't feel ready to go to the senior center to get my exercise needs yet.
Thanks for providing a great space to work out, swim and feel good!
Zumba and Werq dance classes are amazing and so fun!
I love Body pump and Cycle class too!
I love everything about my Y experience !
Good equipment. Not too crowded.

Family friendly

Folks at the Y are always helpful and friendly and they make the Y a welcoming place. I also love the variety of classes I have access to, the lap pool, and I really appreciate the ability to buy some healthy food.
