Community and chikdwatch and classes
The diversity in age, gender, race, ethnicity, financial means, etc. of the people who attend. Also high quality instructors.
Excellent coaches, great aquatics coordinator, and swimming pools. I've been particularly impressed with coach Chris - my son has learned a lot from him, Chris is also very patient with young kids and makes the classes super fun. Rachel, the aquatics coordinator, is very responsive and accommodating - a joy to deal with.
Initially, we were not members but after our great experience, we've decided it was time to officially join the Y.
A beautiful facility, great instructors, very friendly atmosphere, so many classes and scheduled so you're sure to be able to get most of what you want when you want it, affordable and impromptu mostly musical events in the lobby and MORE! a TERRIFIC RESOURCE
Inclusivity, close to home
great coaches
Group exercise classes! So fun!
I like that swim classes are very affordable and also it is a very good timed class. Not too long and most importantly not too short.
My personal trainer Alicia has made a fantastic impact on my life. She's given me an incredible set of tools to take with me on my fitness journey, was flexible with scheduling, and always a delight to be with. I would absolutely recommend her services to anyone I know!

Group Excercise Classes
Paula and someof the other trainers there are incredible and so nice. They really listen to what your ailments are and provide a proper game plan to achieve your goals.
Love the group exercise classes
The people!
I loved how laid-back but informative my swim class was! I learned so much but still felt like I was able to relax in my workout for the day. Also loved how inclusive the class was!
Variety of classes
I love the pool the most and I also love the ellipticals (thanks for repairing the tv on them). Only request I have is for the lockers in the men's room to be fixed please. Half of them are not able to support a lock to secure them.
I love the building and the staff. The building is so uplifting and the staff is very friendly. Love yoga too!
Programs and activities work for me and my family.
Personal Trainer Paula is AWESOME!
I’m really enjoying my personal training experience with Paula and finding it useful in improving my overall fitness!
Good
I like the fact that there are offerings for people of many ages. I wish there were more
weight training/cardio classes directed at seniors.
Have not been involved in group exercise, but some of my friends are and thinking about it.
The teachers are well trained and continue training. I like the diversity of the staff and participants. The equipment is well maintained. There is a goal of positivity which is apparent.
My 14-year old grandson was embarrassed because he did not know how to swim. I convinced him to take classes at the Y. After his first class he was filled with hope and enthusiasm. Now he has gone through all swim levels and wants to join the swim team. These classes have improved his self image on all levels. Y rocks!
Great instructor for yoga (amelia d), friendly class, swimming pool deep enough for diving (finally found one!!!), location and front of house all great.
The pool is run well. Front desk staff extremely professional and friendly. Ali Ball always puts a smile on my face.
I especially like the gesture to provide a women's only swim on Sunday mornings to the community.
I LOVE LOVE the lobby. It's so airy and light. The furniture is incredible. Very homey too.

it is the neatest, most awesome of the Ys in Austin. I can't believe how nice it looks compared to the other branches that are smaller, the equipment less amazing, the space not as well distributed. Townlake YMCA is clearly where the well to do people go. Check it out! Don't waste your emotional energy trying to feel good in those other ones where there is a sense of institutional racism that scares you
