Coached Masters swim. Coaches are flexible, willing to work with a range of abilities.
Swim lessons for babies and swim teams
I like the welcoming vibe, the diversity, the friendly staff. I love the classes - body pump, zumba, pilates.
Friendly staff, relevant programs. Lots of stuff to choose from.
No complaints but haven't done any in a long while.
I like all the group exercise classes, especially the dance classes
All of the equipment appeared fresh and new, and there were plenty available. I went in because I work nearby. My usual YMCA, North Austin, does not have anywhere near the well maintained and number of gym machines, workout equipment, exercise bikes, etc. I would prefer that my home Y was better cared for. It feels a little classist, honestly. But that wouldn't stop me from recommending this one to anyone who lives or works close by.
People are friendly it is clean visitor is allowed.....but smell when you first walk in is not fresh...it smells like a boy cat...please replace the unneutered boy cat smell with a fresh Lysol scent... Thank you.. also ..if someone has visited with me and wants to visit with someone else should not ban them from coming as a guest with someone else.
Helpful staff
Diversity of choices and activities
I like everything about it & especially the swimming pool & the great & friendly customer service & the various fitness classes.
Keep it up.

I love that classes truly feel open to anyone at any skill level. I love the trainers on site.
I love the pool and jacuzzi and steam room. I love that walking in feels like I’m surrounded by all facets of Austin.
I love the saunas, the staff is incredibly helpful and always seem to be happy, and the facilities are very well maintained. The diversity of age and ability and overall welcoming atmosphere make the Townlake YMCA feel like a genuine fulfillment of the promise of the Y as a community resource for everyone. I love love love it and thank you!
i love the affordability factor. I have also taken a variety of group fitness classes as well as some smaller workshop type classes, boxing, for example, and I really enjoy the instructors, the autonomy of the classes matter, and the loyal participants. I have been affiliated with YMCA for my entire life; I received my swim earliest swim instruction from a YMCA, and later was on a youth rec swim team, and later yet became a YMCA swim instructor, life guard, and coach. I have beena member at a YMCA in every U.S. city I have ever lived in, and I love the Y.
The location is amazing! And we love the classes.
Love the Cardio Fusion and Zumba classes, wish there were weight classes other than Body Pump.
I am satisfied with all the employees and how they treat me if I am a foreign citizen. YMCA is the best!
