Member Testimonials
The variety of programs; number of programs: class times; enthusiasm of teachers; kinds of exercise equipment; location; and reasonable cost.
love the variety at the Y from the bball court to the weight room to yoga to swimming... it's my one stop shop for all things active.
Our instructor, Emma, was fantastic. The best swim instructor we've encountered at the Y to date. She taught my 5-year old in private lessons and my 2-year old in a group class. Both were awesome and my boys progressed their comfort, confidence, and skill in the water. We appreciate the great value of Y aquatics programming.
Variety of class times and excellent instructors
The swimming facilities are the best in town.
The Shower facilities are the best of all Austin branches.
The overall positivity of the staff is amazing.
I am enjoying the variety and quality of classes.
I go in the afternoons when it is usually easier to find a parking place. I like all of the different options. I do, however, find the use of locker rooms, sauna, etc. a bit confusing. It was not very clearly explained at the outset. More needs to be done to impress upon people the need to clean up after themselves. I would say that of the folk I see using the recumbent bikes, maybe one in five cleans them off when they are done.
I love what a friendly and welcoming community the Y is.
Lovely facility, a variety of classes, friendly staff!
Elizabeth Doss is an amazing instructor and advocate for the Live Strong program!
The variety is great. The instructors are all very well educated and trained in what they do. Happy feel. Love the senior activities and how welcome everyone makes you feel.
The people, the culture, the variety of classes.
I would like to see the leadership not so overwhelmed and busy with work and for them to try to really connect with the community when requests are made.
Inclusiveness, lack of judgment and posturing, friendly staff
All the instructors and most of the participants are friendly.
Everything! The welcome walking in, the public, the setting. Especially, the human & humane quality of it all.
Pilates class I attend is very good. Just wish parking wasn't such a problem.
The many options for Gentle Yoga classes !
Such a great mix of classes! My faves are Zumba Gold & Tai chi.
Yoga with Scott. Running on the trail. Using all equipment when it’s not raining.
The Barre class with Anson is amazing.
Yoga, Body Pump & Zoomba classes. I love the friendliness and that the YMCA is clean and odor-free.
I love our Y. I have since 2008 attended exercise classes for seniors at Town Lake Y and, although I have "gone missing" from classes periodically, I attribute my general good health to them. Through the Y I have made wonderful friends and sadly very recently lost two of them.
Our senior exercise class meets from 9-10:00 three times a week. This is a perfect time for us and we have a different instructor each day. They work us hard but are careful to remember we are seniors and they are watchful and considerate. We always have great music during our classes and often sing out our joy - Y M C A !
I also enjoy our senior Zumba class which meets twice a week from 9:30 to 10:30 which doesn't conflict with our MWF senior exercise classes. So much fun! I have watched many seniors who started out barely able to move. You should see them now! Do come to the Y and try a class.
Great exercise and health maintenance classes and available machines for muscle improvement. A clean, pleasant atmosphere.
