the Townlake Y is very well equipped and offers a large variety of options. The staff are always friendly and helpful, the facilities are always clean and orderly. i usually swim there 2x per week and should take advantage of other activities but can't find the time at this point. i find most of the people who use the Y to be nice and sometimes interesting. i have met some really interesting people in the hot tub - from varied backgrounds and experiences. it is always a good experience when I go there and i'm grateful to have the Y so close to me.
thanks.
The variety of programs the Y offers
They are fun.
I like the kids sports programs. I sign my son up every season and will continue to do so. It’s a great way to exercise, make friends, and learn new things!
I like the sense of community, the teachers, and the availability of things above just exercising.
I love the facilities where I always find a rowing machine and a treadmill to use, and also the large windows to look at nature while I exercise. I also like to see the many people of my age - seniors - where in the rest of Austin I can feel like an outsider with its emphasis on youth. The staff is friendly and the special events in the lobby I still a sense of community.
Child watch! Eleana and Her team are amazing!
facilities, variety, and sense of community.
The class Sandy teaches at 9AM on Monday for active older adults is so much fun! She is amazing at motivates everyone. The Y is lucky to have such a nice and talented trainer. Vanessa is also a fantastic teacher. I take Zumba Gold on T/Th. She makes the class fun and the time goes by super fast.
I do wish the people in the active older class would not run in and turn off the fans though. Some of them wrap the cords around the fans thinking no one will attempt to plug them in again as if the own the Y.
Wouldn’t it make more sense to run the fans and the people who are cold could wear warmer clothing?
Only the Y management can make this happen. Hey, people sweat and it makes no sense for some to control them. I’ve never said anything to the ones that yank the plugs but the Y management could do so. Why even have them. Just my input.
Variety
Atmosphere, natural lighting, friendly people, coffee lounge.
Variety with f classes, prices community.
The relaxed and inclusive atmosphere and quality of the programs & facilitiws
It is a friendly atmosphere. The active seniors class is great.
The variety of programs; number of programs: class times; enthusiasm of teachers; kinds of exercise equipment; location; and reasonable cost.
love the variety at the Y from the bball court to the weight room to yoga to swimming... it's my one stop shop for all things active.
Our instructor, Emma, was fantastic. The best swim instructor we've encountered at the Y to date. She taught my 5-year old in private lessons and my 2-year old in a group class. Both were awesome and my boys progressed their comfort, confidence, and skill in the water. We appreciate the great value of Y aquatics programming.
Variety of class times and excellent instructors
The swimming facilities are the best in town.
The Shower facilities are the best of all Austin branches.
The overall positivity of the staff is amazing.
I am enjoying the variety and quality of classes.
I go in the afternoons when it is usually easier to find a parking place. I like all of the different options. I do, however, find the use of locker rooms, sauna, etc. a bit confusing. It was not very clearly explained at the outset. More needs to be done to impress upon people the need to clean up after themselves. I would say that of the folk I see using the recumbent bikes, maybe one in five cleans them off when they are done.
I love what a friendly and welcoming community the Y is.
Lovely facility, a variety of classes, friendly staff!
Elizabeth Doss is an amazing instructor and advocate for the Live Strong program!
The variety is great. The instructors are all very well educated and trained in what they do. Happy feel. Love the senior activities and how welcome everyone makes you feel.
The people, the culture, the variety of classes.
I would like to see the leadership not so overwhelmed and busy with work and for them to try to really connect with the community when requests are made.
Inclusiveness, lack of judgment and posturing, friendly staff
All the instructors and most of the participants are friendly.
Everything! The welcome walking in, the public, the setting. Especially, the human & humane quality of it all.

I only did the machines (elliptical and bike), as I visited only 1 time so far. The facility was really pretty, clean, orderly, and very inviting for a workout. I look forward to going again in the future.
This facility is not in my neighborhood, but I will go again when convenient. I normally go to the North location
