I discovered infrared saunas about six years ago and I feel like I've been to every place in the city. Until I found you guys, I'd yet to find that perfect experience, but I loved the sauna and the sweat so much I kept going back. But seriously....so many places are in a dingy basement, and/or no shower, and/or the sauna doesn't get hot enough (very common), and/or closes at like 6pm so who on earth can make it there, and/or very noisy due to whatever else goes on at the business and not at all relaxing. I'll elaborate on that last one - I've most often been going to (get this) Beach Bum Tanning Salon since they are open very late and offer cheap packages. OMG. The place reeks of tanning chemicals and they play thumping techno... the worst.
To be perfectly honest when I read about your business opening a few years back I saw your prices and rolled my eyes. All smug and cheap, I was like, yeah yeah I've been doing this for years, I pay $29/hour at my spot, I don't need to try this place.
Fast forward to dozens of unsatisfying experiences later - and a friend tipping me off to your Howard St location that stays open late (AND HAS SHOWERS!!!!) - I couldn't resist.
Four "doses" later, I am SMITTEN! I practice yoga every night until 8:30pm, so I love being able to book that 9pm appointment. Your saunas are HOT - the rooms are so relaxing and chill, I love that you provide water. And the shower with beautiful products is the crown jewel. But what has REALLY made my summer is these Dirty Lemon drinks. They are so refreshing that I barely need to drink much water at all during my session - one of the downsides of sauna-ing is I always get bloated from chugging water in there - the Dirty Lemon drink solves that, and OMG after that collagen drink I am GLOWING! On that note, I know the DL promotion ends soon - I would love to request that they continue to be available for purchase. It's great for that company too - they get a lot of love online but you can't just try one without ordering a whole expensive case - great exposure for them I'd think!

The front desk was friendly and helpful and the experience itself was relaxing and wonderful! We really enjoyed it.
Ability to use Gurney's spa showers, amenities, etc. Didn't feel as rushed as in the other locations with personal rooms and showers (i.e. 11 howard).
The saunas are very clean!! You have all the necessary items in the room (water, aux cord, iPhone dongle to use the aux jack). Staff is nice and helpful - always asks how things went after you are done with your session.

I'm a huge fan of higherDOSE, been a client for over a year. I love the whole sauna experience, I feel so calm and relaxed. In the last year I feel and see improvements in my skin, moods, and my health issues. The sauna experience has been a life saver! I started my experience in the ABC carpet pop up location and I now frequent the Howard hotel location and I just think "what a brilliant idea! The staff is always great and so are the amenities.
This isn't really a complaint, I don't know if anyone has mention this but I just wanted to give an fyi about sauna "room 1". Over the last couple of months I've occupied this room and the sauna door is mixing screws, there are two little holes and the right side heater has not been working. I think with the combination of both these things it is preventing the sauna to heat up to it's full potential, I think the highest it has gone for me is 140 degrees?

I've been going to you guys since you opened 11 Howard last year. Besides the detoxing benefits, it really just helped me sleep better and deal with stress in general. I've recommended 4-5 friends and have even brought some dates to HigherDose. I'm determined to get my boyfriend hooked! :)
My only critique would be that there is no rewards program or incentive to invite/ bring new friends to HigherDose. IF there were, I would come every week or even every day. Also if you could provide lotion or coconut oil as sitting in a sauna can be very drying for skin.
