The staff was exceptional. Very professional and attentive. Incorporating IPADS in the learning process was ideal. My daughter enjoyed going to her classes.
It would help to be more specific when discussing the progress of our child.
I like how you are giving personalized attention to my son. I can see a difference in his writing in just a few weeks!
I love that my children are treated as individuals and may need a new or diferent way to learn a concept. Thank you for all your wonderful work. My kids are happy and more self confident in class.

The services work like we are told
We came to Sylvan to improve my daughter's reading skills. Through discussion, I was lead to believe she would improve by at least a half of grade level. After 36 hours of tutoring, she has not improved much from the level she started at.
Jillian is working at improving her math skills, and sticking with it.
Doug loves going to Sylvan. He has not complained one morning about getting up and out the door. The best news is he is improving at a steady rate. To me that means the teaching staff is friendly and encouraging but at the same time he is required to do his work.
The staff are very knowledgable about what it takes to get the progress we want to see. Yes I would definately recommend Sylvan.
We love how you take time with each family to talk about the specific needs for their child. I also love how much my kids actually enjoy going to Sylvan. They even, at times, look forward to it!!
My son has an IEp and they still wanted to charge me to test him. The IEP explains everything.
Hi Alicia,
I understand your concern and why it might seem like we could use IEP information from the school. An IEP gives us an idea of where to begin, but in order to have the most current information regarding any student's skills, we need to do testing before we begin classes. This allows us to create a program specifically detailed towards the student's needs. Some IEP's are general or have been set up months before and therefore don't reflect skills the student may have learned in the mean time. We did offer you a discount of 75% off of the regular testing price based on your concerns. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Our intention is always to create an up-to-date personalized program for each student.
Regards,
Darcy
After 72 hrs Sylvan was unable to bring our son up one grade level as promised by their adds.
At this time, I can't think of anything. My daughter's conference and report card will tell me what we need to work on.
The guarantee that my student will improve one full grade level from that at which she currently stands.
Positive learning environment, and build confidence with the students.
The teachers are obviously experienced professionals and know how to work with all ages and types of kids.
The program is custome fit for each individual child.
Saw a commercial guaranteeing 36 hours/1 grade level advancement.... So, why is it going to take 150+ hours with no guarantee she will even pass current grade level Algebra?
The services and people work there they are really good
This should be offered thru public schools.
Very true Susan, that would be the idea situation, and we would LOVE to partner with the schools so that all kids could have the individual help they need.
We like the range of times in the schedule. We like the frequency of the progress report meetings. Our son likes that if he's having a problem understanding the teaching methods of an instructor he can choose ti not work with that instructor in the future. Every time we have met with the director we have seen our son's progress and it has been showing in his schoolwork as well.
At this point my child has not been attending Sylvan long enough for me to give a fair judgment.
Thank you for your response Karen. I was glad to hear from you that he is comfortable here and is feeling confident in his homework.

That the teacher is great and my child understands the information and is always learning somehing new.
