What could we do to improve?

Your estimation for cost of services is very flawed. First of all, the estimate I received the Wednesday before my Tuesday service I happened to screenshot, and had not changed any anything in regards to it, was about 12 dollars less than the estimate I pulled up on the day of service. The discount I originally received was called a 901 residential discount and that had been changed by someone else to become a last chance discount after the subtotal, when the other discount was applied before the subtotal. Now this 12 dollar difference may not seem like a lot, but no one informed me of the change and the way your estimate generated to a link and not a pdf tells me someone can easily go and “update” the estimate without there being proof of the old estimate because only the newest one is shown, as in the case with me. The only way I could compare what I was originally given and what was sneakily updated was because I took a screenshot if it. And no, this 12 dollars was not just adding in your service fee because my original estimate had the service fee in it already. I felt very tricked to have a link to see an estimate that can be changed by a person behind the scenes at any time and there’s no proof or argument a home owner can make against the company that the estimate was changed unless they screen shotted it.

My next issue was the technician came and said many many times how much of a discount we were getting as if we were commuting some crime, like we were taking advantage of the company, and said minimum he would have charged 350 for our house when we were quoted 259 (with the sneaky estimate showing 272) and when I had gave all the details of my house to the phone scheduler and did not hide anything. I said the exact stair count, knowing there were 3 more stairs in it than were covered, knowing each stair after the 20 that she told me was covered would be 5 dollars each…so 15 dollars extra with my 3 extra stairs. I even disclosed I had two stair entrances that met in the middle but the technician said he would have charged 80 for the second stair set that was very small to meet halfway in the middle with the other main entrance of stairs and would have charged 95 for the other set. That seems pretty steep for 3 more extra stairs. He said that the office always under quotes and that there are always issues with the way the technicians see a job vs the way the phone callers estimate the job. He also told me that they only cover about 15 stairs not 20 so you need to train your people to be on the same page with how many stairs are covered in the 95 dollar price or not. I based wanting your service on that estimate and if I disclosed everything I don’t like feeling guilted by the technician that I shouldn’t be getting this good if a discount or deal when I didn’t do anything wrong in scheduling. The technician said our hallway was bigger than most and he would have charged more as well as our master closet was a larger one so he would have charged more but I have seen many master closets here and I feel ours is about average- but even if it is bigger we still had many things on the carpet that were in the way so he didn’t even have to do the whole thing, as well as the hallway had a large dresser to block some of the carpeted area as well. Maybe instead of charging by room type - like hallway or bedroom- If your technicians don’t like that because some houses are more work than others since those sizes may vary- you may charge by a more accurate and fair reading of square footage. That way a very small bedroom doesn’t cost the same as a large master one, or if larger hallways are very much a concern for your technicians than maybe price per square foot would ease their minds. Our technician also said that he always charges a flat rate for everything but gives bio treatments and scotch guard to make justification for charging more… but as in our case we didn’t want or need bio treatments and scotch guard on the majority of our carpets and I feel the customer should be able to see the price difference with having those on our not- not just giving it to them without them knowing there was an option to pay for less perks. Either your office and technicians are conspiring together to get more out of the customer than originally quoted, or you have major Communication issue between your schedulers and coding and what your technicians think is the best rate to charge.

That being said, our technicians were kind and friendly and did a good job. I appreciated him throwing in a few square feet to a small closet and two small rugs for me for free. I did appreciate that so much. Other than one of them making us feel “guilty” for getting this good of a deal “he hadn’t seen in years”… he did let up when I told him I went over all the fine details with Martha and we couldn’t afford to pay more of the way he wanted it. But I don’t like having to pay more for the price I was quoted and even then I paid more than I was quoted due to your sneaky estimate live update system. The carpets feel amazing and fresh and for that I gave you a 7 because I do like the zero residue and the cleaners you use. But if we go with you in the future I will not be accepting service if there is a large difference between the estimate and what the technician wants to charge. I will go with another company who honors their estimates.

ZeroRez washed my vinyl floor and significantly damaged it in the process. They are not taking any responsibility whatsoever and have given me the 'run around'. One owner has avoided me and I'm disgusted! I will never use this company again.

Your technician could not move a router and the box the router goes in to clean the carpet in the corner it was setting in. All the carpet were clean except a 1’ x1’ square. Really disappointing to come home and see this with the price I paid to get it done.

They didn't clean everywhere in the rooms. We were told they don't move anything more than fifty pounds. My husband and I moved all furniture except beds and the nightstand in two rooms. I did pull the stand out away from the wall. They didn't even clean by the nightstands! In the other room there is a distinct line where they stopped cleaning. In front of the closet, nightstands weren't even scooted or cleaned underneath! There is crunchy residue in every room they "cleaned" but all I've ever heard is NO RESIDUE with your company. We feel we were scammed. Very disappointed.

To be completely honest, I have seen your advertisement video of the jobs being performed. When I reviewed my security camera footage, the worker showed nowhere near the same attention to detail. It seemed like he was just in a hurry and halfway did the job. Some very simple coffee stains weren’t even removed, which I then removed myself with a little carpet cleaner later, so I know it wasn’t a difficult stain. I will most likely not be using your service again. The only thing I liked about the experience was the availability and flexibility of scheduling the appointment. If you would like to refund part of my payment, or want to come back and do the job right, let me know.

First of all, it was super easy and quick scheduling an appointment. The technician was very polite and patient answering all my questions. This was so nice, especially in a city where you just don’t see that happen often. He did a thorough cleaning of my carpets and was not in a hurry.
The drying time was quick, just a few hours and my carpets look amazing. I would definitely recommend Zerorez and I will use them again next time.
