I love their water I’ve used it for years
My mother and I buy reverse osmosis (RO) water from Culligan to minimize our consumption of arsenic from groundwater. (She has a private well, my town's potable water is drawn from multiple wells.) We remineralized our water using a SanteVia pitcher, and we also supplement with calcium and magnesium caplets. We do not want to develop osteoporosis from drinking "stripped" water long-term without putting back the missing minerals
We began Culligan deliveries after four months of my mother having frequent diarrhea and unstable blood pressure ranging up to 180/100. The diarrhea gave her back to back bladder infections and she was on constant antibiotics. Water testing showed elevated arsenic levels in the well water. Everything cleared up when we switched her over to drinking RO water.
My understanding is that arsenic interferes with nitric oxide function in endothelial linings such as blood vessel walls and intestinal walls. Negative health effects are known to occur from arsenic levels that decades-old limits set under the Clean Water Drinking Act leniently regard as "safe." I would say that "safe enough, on average" does not mean that much arsenic will be safe for all individuals.
My mother is an 86 year old with a history of heart disease, diabetes, and memory loss. I also switched myself over to RO water with mineral supplementation, in hopes that I can head off potential health problems, given that I am related to my mother who seems to have suffered harm from her well water.
In addition to letting us exclude arsenic, I am hoping that Culligan 's reverse osmosis process may also filter out micro plastics and "forever" chemicals.
I feel safe with the level of quality Culligan’s filtration system provides. Service technicians are always, helpful, tidy, efficient and lovely to deal with.
