Sylvan has helped my daughter gain confidence in her knowledge of her school work, which has reduced the amount of time needed to complete her homework. Eric is a patient and fantastic tutor and my daughter loves him.
You’re very expensive. That’s the greatest problem.
Welcoming environment, we’ve used 2 other tutoring services for my other child and Sylvan is the most welcoming and encouraging. It would be helpful to get feedback from the teacher during the last 5 minutes on what we could work on or my child’s progress.
quality of instruction
We have seen improvement in the month that our son has been to Sylvan. The one on one learning environment is what he needs. Their teachers are kind and patient. He also enjoys their reward system, which allows him to trade in points earned during class for prizes.
It is just a little bit pricey
Love that you've been able to work 1-on-1 with my daughter for different disciplines whenever she needs it. It's really helped to boost her confidence in those subjects. Also appreciate the flexibility you have in scheduling...not easy to balance all the activities and extra-curriculars sometimes, so thank you for your understanding!
My grandson enjoys going to Sylvan’s. It’s too early to tell whether he is making progress

I e had 2 sons and grandchildren helped by the Sylvan program in Kahala location.

I liked the tutor my son had. He was very helpful! He did well on his chemistry final and ended up with an A. Thank you! Thank you to his tutor!!!
However, they double booked us and we ended up waiting for an extra hour until he met his tutor. I stood in the front desk while tutors were going there getting or doing stuff and no asked if I needed assistance. Also, no one told us where to make the payment or greeted us. Finally,I asked where do I make payments and someone said I don’t do payments go to the back. The guy sitting in the back in front of his computer printed the receipt and asked me to get the receipt from the printer. He should have introduced himself and get up from his seat to give me the receipt instead of me getting it. Be a little more professional during a business transaction.
They are good
I can’t say that I see a significant improvement in my son’s study skills. What improvement I do see may or may not be due to his attending Sylvan.

The team of Pam, Olivia and Sam work wonders! They are extremely accommodating to families of all kinds of needs. Never felt pushed to take more classes. Thank you!
My son hasn’t attended Sylvan learning center long enough to see results.
The tutors are excellent, and the owners are flexible and accommodating.
I’m not sure it’s a matter of disappointing me, as it is, my daughter’s grades have not risen for the amount of time and money we have contributed. She is a good student so I know she’s capable. She does her homework when it’s given to her. So I don’t know what to make it. However, when she finishes up this August session we will not be continuing.
My daughter enjoyed making friends and going on the excusions.
So I really think there better teachers and helps me learn WAY more than my school. I was in a math test, and tripped upon a ratio question, that somehow only three people in the class knows including me. I noticed that it was actually really easy for me until classmates started asking the teacher how to do the question. Then finding out that it was you guys that helped me out that lot. I would’ve never noticed if it wasn’t for that first day of school. I just want to say thank you so much, and I want to keep on having such good teachers for my learning. My wish was always to go in Harvard, so I hope we can make the most out of it. Again, thank you so much for helping out, hope we can continue this trip of learning.
Friendly & encouraging staff
We absolutely love Sylvan Kahala. We have used several tutoring companies on the island and by far Sylvan is the best! Our girls love to go and are excited when we tell them they have class. The staff is amazing and you can tell they really love children and care about their clients. We would absolutely recommend Sylvan Kahala!!!
