Friendly, efficient and knowledgeable staff in a relaxed and positive atmosphere. Joe spent a lot of time with us on our initial visit and explained the Sylvan philosophy, and the guarantee of results made it even more appealing.
Effective teaching of identified weak skills.
I liked the personalize attention and tutoring tailored to fit my needs. I never felt coming was unnecessary. It was always helpful and caring.
We are extremely grateful to Mr. Joe Weldon and his wonderful and extraordinary staff, who are completely devoted with great expertise and knowledge, recognizing our son's challenges. In just a little our 4 weeks hes his test scores have improved dramatically, from a D student to an Amazing "A". A wonderful big boost in his self confidence.
Would reccomend Sylvan for there academics, great program as far as receiving the tutoring my child needed! Would hope in the future your staff/front desk person would greet families and students when entering & exiting. Personality and Customer service goes along way!
The friendliness and flexibility.
First & foremost, my granddaughter confidence has soared since started her reading and math classes. Her reading is better and math, we're still working on. But all in all, on a scale of 1 to 10, I give Ken and Sylvan an 11.5 in approach and attitude to help the kids.
From the initial appointment the staff has always strived to meet our request to strengthen our son's needs in critical reading and writing. And the staff has always responded to all our questions and concerns in a timely manner.

I TRIED TO GET A MEETING WITH THE COUNSELOR BUT WASNT CALLED, EMAILED, OR MET WITH WHEN I WAS RIGHT OUT SIDE THE DOOR BUT HE WAS BUSY WITH OTHER ISSUES.
The commitment. All the staff are very helpful and they make sure that all our needs are met.
Professionalism of staff. Understanding of a family's busy schedule and the need to be flexible. Everyone was kind to my child.

What I like about Sylvan Learning Center at Kahala
Is the professional being of the staff and how they try to make you or your children feel comfortable
They don't make you feel like your not so smart ,and I like that they build your childs confidence..
Most times a child is put where ever and is expected. To learn like everyone else.
But Sylvan really makes my child feel good about herself so now she wants to go back which is a plus for us.
We have no idea how our son did on the first 2 sessions of evaluation/testing. We have gotten no feedback or report on what his strengths and weaknesses are after 3 sessions.
Communication is lacking.
One minor error was made when I rescheduled a session. When requesting a reschedule, the person helping me didn't seem to know which dates I was scheduled to come. On the day I rescheduled, I was phoned and ask why we weren't there.
One comment made by my child was to have a fair amount of attention during a session. She is older and felt she was being neglected.
Nurturing, safe environment. Director and staff are very positive and helpful.
