I think I would like it if I could communicate through email on how my child is doing and the things she is learning. Maybe every other week would be nice. Just an update or anything pertinent. I do ask her and she tells me, but it's vague. She does enjoy and look forward to going to Sylvan and the Toy's and rewards are a great motivator.
My granddaughter feels very comfortable going to Sylvan and actually looks forward to her time there. The teachers are friendly and accommodating. She has gained much that she has already applied to her school work. Mahalo for all that you do!

One on one help for my child, in 3 in a group sessions were effective.
My son is very happy going there, which is a huge plus. The teachers at his school sees improvement which I'm very happy about.
In regards to summer programs it would be nice if information could be given much earlier, same time or before schools. I know there is a parent meeting after so many classes, which I can't remember how many. It would be nice to have reminders. About SSAT, I remember that my son did a couple of practices but the person did not explain how much he had to do per section to have a hire score. We only knew after when I met with Joe. So it would be good to tell these tips to the person who is going to take the test.
Our kids seem to be motivated and enjoy their experiences.
I love the fact that the teaching is tailored to the needs of the child. The personal rapport with the instructors is invaluable. My son felt he was important, and they heard everything he had to say.

Our daughter likes going to Sylvan and tutorial sessions have been helpful. We like the positive atmosphere and flexibility in session times.
NOTE: Phonecalls to Sylvan (Kahala) often go into voicemail. Would be good to have someone available for most calls.
The ease in which our appointment and services were rendered. Not to mention the Harvard credentials on the wall. Nice!!

My kids have said that they are feeling more confident about their math skills, which is a huge improvement!
Progress reports at regular intervals would be great!
flexible for time changes-teen friendly to accommodate changes due to activities; flexible for subjects-help with math homework due to upcoming exams, then back to agreed oubject. Staff really understands kids and fosters confidence and affirmation.
Would like to hear from the instructor on how my son did. Even for a minute, it would be nice to hear if he paid attention, needs to practice on something, moved on to the next step, etc....

Personal plan, goal setting, works with schedule. Staff is great. Most of all our daughter loves it...loves the teachers... and I have seen most (if not all) staff go out of there way to know her and acknowledge her and make her feel like she belongs there which helps her to succeed.
It's just reaLly expensive.
Im not sure yet, as my son has only been going to Sylvan for about a month and a half. So, I have yet to see how Sylvan performs.
I like the flexibility of accommodating study times, especially when the unexpected occurs. My granddaughter is very comfortable in the new environment and actually looks forward to going to Sylvan. I am satisfied that she considers this a "support resource" for her school work.
The people in the offices are friendly and they try to accommodate the needs of the family and students.

Tutoring lessons are offered on weekends as well as later evenings times during the week.
From the first day I walked in the inquire about tutoring services for my grandson, I was extremely pleased with Allyson's professionalism and welcoming spirit. my grandson has only attended a few sessions but already I have noticed his self esteem has gone up.
