Fun friendly workout, terrible parking
Home away from home
Anthony is the best instructor I’ve had across the YMCA of the Triangle branches the last four years. I wish he had more classes at Lakewood — it’s my closest branch — but I’ll happily travel to take more of his classes!

I love the racquetball courts! Great gym here. only missing a pool, which I understand is a huge endeavor. Love how close it is!
The space is nice — large and well laid out
I normally use the Downtown Y (and I love it!), but the Lakewood sauna & steamroom are soooooo lovely, and always worth the trip.
Group fitness classes are varied and offered several times per week!
Friendly and welcoming staff.
Small but has everything I need. Parking has yet to be an issue. The steam room actually works.
The Lakewood Y means the world to me. Staff are great! I have made some super friendships and in some we see each other outside the Y.
My only negative is that parking can be difficult depending on the time.
I have had a very positive experience at the Lakewood YMCA so far. Everyone (staff and members) are so friendly. The facilities are clean and well-equipped. People are good about wiping down equipment and not staying on one machine for too long. The lockers are also spacious, which is a plus for office or remote workers who need to carry their work things and gym clothes around. Really enjoying it here!

Friendly staff - a warm greeting at the reception desk! They are engaged (not on cell phones)!
It is clean, towels are always fresh and available, there is adequate spacing between machines. Even though it is not a big space, I am glad machines are being squished together.
Brooke's yoga class is wonderful! She is wonderful!
Love it! Wish the sauna was not just in the women’s locker room bc my nonbinary friends can’t access it.

Friendly Neighbourhood feel. Always very clean. It doesn't have a ton of different machines but I can always find what I need if I pay attention to when I come. Staff are fantastic.
The gym was very clean and lots of equipment. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Great experience!
