We love Camp Blazing Trails. My kids especially love the traditions that keep them coming back every year. I have one complaint though - they went to the Finley pool one day and the lifeguards refused to do swimming tests for the campers so my 12yo son along with a lot of other campers weren't able to go on the waterslide or swim anywhere outside the shallow end. This took up most of a day and it was so frustrating to my camper and really a waste of a day for him. I think if the camp is going to go to the pool, they need to arrange in advance to make sure the kids can do the swim test and get to enjoy their time there.
I like the community and family feel. Everyone is very kind.

Hey everything has gone pretty good this week! This was our only week at Finley this summer, my daughter spent the rest of her YMCA camp weeks down in Chapel Hill and Pittsboro (close to where I work). She has enjoyed swimming all summer but this week she doesn't want to swim at the Finley pool. She doesn't have a swim band yet (we are working towards that for next year!) and she seems kind of bored and feels confined by the small space they are allowed to swim. I think the Meadowmont pool allowed them much more access to the pool even in life jackets. She is loving playing soccer and watching counselors get pied in the face!
I enjoy all the activities and personal that are involved in the activities that I am involved in.
It is a well run organization.

The YMCA is a very welcoming place. As a young adult with no kids, I mainly utilize the gym which is always in good condition.

There is no better place than this YMCA to exercise. Great cardio and weight lifting areas to suit all of your needs. There are also many different classes to join to enhance your workout and go to the next level. Indoor and outdoor pool; basketball court; sauna; swim classes and much more. The staff is very nice and polite and will help you with anything you need. I have been a member for almost 20 years and will be there for 20 more hopefully!!
The People
The kids love being outside at Blazing trails! The archery and canoeing is fun, they love earning the beads and getting to know new friends. They’ve gone 3 years in a row and had a great experience
