The people are wonderful, both staff and members. There are people of all ages, races, and physical fitness abilities there. The equipment is great. While I don't need it now, many years ago I totally appreciated the childcare that is provided at the YMCA, and would recommend it for any parent to help them with self-care and health while raising a family. Watching the young children playing basketball on Saturday mornings in the gym is a treat. I love belonging to the great YMCA community too because when I travel it typically is easy to find a YMCA that I can visit. I have belonged to the YMCA for roughly 20+ years. I plan to continue my membership for many more!

All of the gym and locker room areas are kept very clean and the equipment is kept in good condition. The staff is friendly enough. So, all together it provides a pleasant experience.

Pool had available lanes at prime time, was clean and a good temperature for lap swimming. Locker room was large, convenient and had plenty of showers and was clean.

I enjoy the Downtonw durham YMCA because of the staff and the friends I enteract with. I am concerned about the value of some of yoru repriar companies. I think you are over-charged for them "guessing" on what is wrong with the AC and steamroom/pool repairs. they should be overseen when they are on the job. the onsite maintenance person should spend more time on this large facilitiy that needs constant repair and supervision.
It's close to my home and the hours are convenient.
