Friendly. Feels more "homey" than some of the big gyms. I do wish there were a few more exercise classes, however, and maybe specific trainer or 2 specifically trained to work with older adults.

I love the friends I have made at the Y. My favorite class is Spin with Heidi. The workout rooms are very nice. The elliptical and weight machines are among my favorites. I am sad they removed all but one toilet and sink from the women's locker room. I would also like them to replace or repair existing spin bikes on a more regular basis. Much of the time the bikes are in need of repair.

Great instructors
I enjoy coming to the Y, many different classes are offered. My only complaint is that when machines are out of service, it seems like it takes many days to get them fixed. Also there are only two regular upright stationary bikes, which are usually taken during peak times. It would be nice to have an upright stationary bike for shorter people. While the seat can be adjusted, the distance between the seat and the handle. :)
I enjoy coming to the Tempe Y during my winter stay in Arizona. It is convenient, good selection of equipment and the personnel at front desk are personable and welcoming. I enjoy there some good opportunities for socializing like first Friday bagel gathering and the holiday pot luck.
