I go to the Y almost daily. I regularly go to the water exercise class led by Kathleen Heemstra called Aqua Arthritis. I have had two knee replacements in 2025 and this class has been most beneficial for exercising and strengthening my legs. This class is so popular that unless you sign up in the first 10 minutes of enrollment, you can't get in.

Free classes that I don't have to be signed up to go. Good classes too. ( I'm talking about Tim for Yoga!) Usually clean but the floor in the workout room should be swept on a much more regular basis.
Having a pool is great too.
I wish there were more crafty classes. Make and take kind of things.
I haven't explored the other locations but am looking forward to doing that in the new year.

The pool is easily the nicest in the area. While some aspects may not be as new as at other locations the best part about this location is the fact that they have a parking lot (unlike the downtown location which was previously my go to) the staff is friendly and the track is very nice.
A lovely place to come. The hardest part is getting into the class I want because it fills up so quickly. The instructors I've come in contact with or very lovely people they work hard and they're passionate about what they do if you need help just ask someone is there to help you.

As a previous member of the downtown YMCA for more than a couple decades, I almost cancelled my membership because the downtown Y is terrible now!! The parking situation is inexcusable, the "new" locker rooms are completely falling apart and the whole facility is so dirty and not well maintained! It is so sad because I prefer to do my long runs outside and downtown has more options for where to run.
With all of that said, I decided to start going to the Spartan Y instead. I find the workers to be very kind and the members in the morning are like the downtown Y used to be....they feel like family. I appreciate that very much. The locker rooms are always clean and everything is well taken care of! If something isn't working, it is fixed in a reasonable amount of time. There are no issues with parking at the Spartan Y either. I really appreciate this facility and how well it is cared for. Maybe you all could teach the downtown Y some lessons??

The best staff at Spartan Nash Y! Warm welcomes, feels like home, clean, healthy atmosphere! Brian J has gone above and beyond to make my family feel welcome for many years. All the staff members are so great, the cleaners, the pool staff, the management. I always feel safe and encouraged to train. What more can you ask for!
It's very clean. The equipment is well taken care of. The locker rooms showers,sauna tell the story of pride the staff takes in their house.
