The pool and hot tub are perfect. I use both the pool and hot tub to ease joint pain. The temperature is perfect for this. I live closer to the downtown Y, but make the effort to go to Spartan just for this.
The walking track
We like the variety of weights and machines. Also, there are some good classes, such as Aqua aerobics and Flex, stretch and balance. We enjoy the pool, hot tub and sauna.
However, some of the music played is very inappropriate, which we find offensive.
The machines need to be maintained better. There are pads that have been ripped for weeks! They should be replace quickly.
Extended hours, clean, non judgmental
Friendly staff. I use the facility mostly on the weekends for the sauna. It is close to my home and I don't travel downtown where i usually go.
I am enjoying the swim classes, but the equipment for the pool is in very bad shape and not nearly enough for everyone. New equipment is desperately needed and easier access to them.
I enjoy the pool and how the staff is friendly and kind
The best
Clean. Nice people. Excellent equipment. Just all around pleasant
Everything it's great including it's staff
Friendly environment easy to use equipment
Has everything I need, strength training, aerobic, track, pool, hot tub, sauna. Is well staffed and the staff are friendly.
I really appreciate the pool exercise classes. My arthritic joints respond better in the water.
I love it!! Thanks for the great work!
Clean facility. People are there ti help you.
The coach makes it fun for the kids while giving them good instructions and tips.
Coaches are great and very encouraging--and have a lot of patience with the three-year-olds! Friendly office staff directed us to where we needed to go since it was our first time there.
Friendly workers Nice facility clean variety of machines
I have been taking water aerobics and I love the class. Great times. Good length of class. I love the instructors. They keep the class upbeat and fun. My kiddos also take swim lessons and those have been so beneficial.
It is always clean and feels safe! As a woman, it is important that I feel safe and comfortable when working out - especially alone.
I frequent a few of the local YMCAs around town and each have their pros and cons.
The one negative about Spartan Nash are the lockers. In the winter especially as they only have two hooks and no shelves. It is hard to hang all your clothes and store belongings.
I like the exercise classes, the range of exercise equipment, and the cleanliness of the place.
Ease of using their facilities!
Everything we need to work out.
My husband, daughter and I, love going to this gym. It is the closest gym that has what we like- Sauna, Hot tub, Pool, and a lot of different machines that we need for our work out. I highly recommend it for families and individuals. There are more things that they offer in the side, like childcare at specific times.
It’s a great place to work out, it has a pool, Sauna, everything I need to maintain health.
Clean, well managed, staff polite and knowledgeable, great equipment and a large variety of exercise options.
Clean facility, helpful staff. Patrons respect each other.
Very good place for exercise .

Second visit to SpartanNash - we were quite happy that the Pool water temp was nearly 2 degrees WARMER than what was written on the white board.
On this same thread of pool temperatures, we are disappointed that David Hunting branch is following the same path as Mary Freeze Bed Y (where the family pool temp hasn't been warm in over 3 years) and only taking the water temp once a day, in the morning. Often what is reported at these two family pools is 2-4 degrees warmer than the actual pool temp later in the day.
Back to SpartanNash, our only complaint was the mildew on the slimy shower curtain, we used the Family Room next to the handicapped room (pool side).
