Everything i go every single day
Miss Melissa has been so fabulous during swim lessons with my Daughter. They have a great rapport, and I can see the positive influence she is having.
I love my adult swimming lessons! Melissa is the best, more encouraging, supportive teacher I could ask for.
Good!
I love the diversity of people and activities at the DDH YMCA!
Everything
I like the Les Mills classes, I like most of the instructors, I like being able to attend classes at any of the YMCA's in GR area, the Y offers a nice variety of classes and programs, and I think the monthly cost is a good value.
Now let me tell you what I DON'T like: I find it VERY annoying that members are allowed to go into classes early and "save" spaces and equipment for people. I don't know about other classes, but this happens every Saturday morning for the 9 am body pump class. I walk into class at 8:45 and every bench is out and set up with equipment and they are "saved" for people who may or may not arrive later. There are a few regulars that do this all the time. I think it's fair to set up a bench for ONE friend whom you know is coming...but if you're going to set up the whole room, the benches should be first come, first served.
Please address this - I know I'm not the only one who finds this frustrating.
It's friendliness and availability of the staff.
Staff is just terrific, facilities are the best, and I like feeling like I am part of a health and fitness-conscious community. Also, the sports and activities for kids are really fantastic for my grandkids, so I am happy that the whole family can enjoy the Y. I pick up my 4 and 5 year-old granddaughters from their school every Friday afternoon and take them to the Y for their dance class. During the entire drive, we play the Village people YMCA song and the girls sing along. What's more fun than that?
My family and I have been members for about 20yrs. I love the atmosphere, the employees are awesome, there’s lots of equipment and the location is “perfect”!!!! 😁
Friendly and expert staff! Great reliable kidzone care.
Great Staff.
The David H Hunting YMCA is beautifully run and maintained and has a sense of harmony due to the leadership, management and quality of people they employ.
The downtown Y is great! I love running on the track or on the cardio equipment overlooking the city.
Good atmosphere and friendly staff.
All the people that work there and members are pleasant. The guy at the desk makes it a family atmosphere. Dont know his name but he knows and talks with everyone.
I love the workout classes and the overall vibe of the Y!
It's big, clean, friendly, and close to home. I love watching the city from the windows on the third floor. I love the diversity of people of all demographics who join us to care for their bodies.
beautiful facility, well maintained, great staff
Great facility to workout and socialize
As a new mother, I knew my time at Planet Fitness had to come to an end. I needed a facility that was family-friendly and would allow me to maintain a healthy lifestyle while also caring for my new baby. I love the David D Hunting YMCA because I can take my baby in his stroller around the track, drop him off at the child care space, or take him swimming! There are so many options of ways we can stay active together. My husband and I are so thankful for the friendly and accommodating environment and are happy to be members of the YMCA.
Everything
The gym is always very clean and there's lots of workout equipment to choose from.
The YMCA will be a part of my children's childhood that they will always be able to remember as fun family time! There's something for everyone to enjoy from ballet, basketball, zumba, swimming and much more! We are proud YMCA members and we appreciate the whole team for all they do to make our experiences enjoyable!
Yoga is my favorite thing. I like the variety of classes in various locations. I can usually find a class any day of the week depending on my schedule. I also like Zumba and Flow classes.
Convenient parking. Lots of programs. Always clean. Courteous staff.
Great facility great staff and welcoming members
I like that they are inclusive. I have so many friends that are part of the LGBTQIA+ community and the YMCA has a reputation for being a christian organization, so there is hesitance when somebody from the LGBTQIA+ community thinks about walking into the Y, especially during this current social climate when christianity is situated in direct opposition to my friends and family who are queer. I asked one of the people at the front desk a few years ago about whether or not they accept transwomen at the Y, and the answer was a completely unbothered, "Yes." There was no silence, or look of worry - they had no issue welcoming somebody from the LGBTQIA+ community, and that made ME feel safer going to the Y, even though I do not identify as part of that community. As long as the Y remains a truly welcoming organization, I will continue to come and continue to endorse the Y to my friends and family.
The facility is great and well cared for. I regularly attend the group cycling classes during winter months and foul weather, and am disappointed that you no longer have the M-W-F 10AM classes, apparently lacking instructors. I also swim laps, th pool is great, and use th weight machines for upper-body work.
The staff there is great, pleasant and responsive
I also use the spin bikes in the hall next to the studio and listen to an audiobook. That area needs a cooling fan. The big video screens in the studio are great, during classes keeping my mind of what is hurting during the workout.
In good weather I prefer to exercise outdoors. Fresh air & sunshine are a tonic for th soul!
P.S. I am 81y/o

The vast things I can do! It is clean, friendly, convenient, and just overall a great place to be.
