The downtown one is by far the best in the network of Grand Rapids YMCA’s. Always clean and even with the construction going on it’s cleaner than some of the other locations we have been to in the last several years. Super friendly staff always willing to help and see how you’re doing for the day.

The building is clean. The receptionists are friendly. Checking in is streamlined. Parking is kind of crazy, but it's free.
I love that it is free, especially at this young age when you are trying to see what your child gravitates towards and enjoys. So grateful for this opportunity. I also love the ease and grace of the program, allowing for every child to have a chance and experience. Even absences due to travel or camp have been so adaptable it's been amazing. And thank you to coaches and volunteers!
YMCA staff was great with the kids, helpful and faithful in showing up for practice and games. We have enjoyed baseball, our son has grown in knowledge of the game and is improving greatly in the sport. We understand the reason for needing to travel to other fields, but would prefer to stay at our assigned one all season if possible, even if that means re-playing the same teams (which is fun, since we all practiced together and got to know each other a bit). Thanks for the efforts to make it free. Equitable is important to our family and it allowed us to participate and proud to support. Thank you!

Large exercise area lot's of workout equipment and in multiple styles. Facilities are always being updated and improved.
Our experience has been very positive, softball was new to our kids and they have developed an interest for the sport. It has been really nice to see them go from knowing nothing about it, to trying really hard to show their best effort. Coaches have been very nice and helpful.
Always a smile and a hello when I arrive. Clean. Awesome yoga instructors (TIM!!!)
