I like the accepting, non-judgemental atmosphere. Gyms can be intimidating, but the Y makes all experience levels feel welcome.
The exercise machines are great. I haven’t been to any classes yet, but there are many that I’m interested in. The facilities are clean, bright, and well-equipped (bathrooms, drinking fountains, the lobby, etc.). For the most part, the staff is friendly and helpful.

I love Body Pump and CX Worx.
I use the water exercise and it helps keep me limber. This works for me. The class is friendly so it helps in theat realm also.

I love the basketball programs for the youth. It is such a positive environment and my son loves it each year. He has a hard time in certain social situations and loves playing for the YMCA each year.

Instructors are well-trained and very positive. Weight room trainers are skilled and will provide helpful information when needed. The facility generally feels welcoming and accepting of every age and background.

I wonder how well the kids club is sanitized on a daily or weekly basis. My child sometimes gets sick after going there. But, that happens around kids anyway. Never actually seen anyone cleaning. ?
It would be great if the kids could use the hot tub, too, after swimming. I know they would enjoy it! 😊

I don't take classes but I really like the machines in the Wellness Center. The staff are friendly and that is important to me as well.
YMCA is more than a health club.

Like that some Y classes are free for members; also like the availability of community programs, such as Stanford's Balance class and Be Strong, Be Well.
I think the YMCA has a great facility and programs. I do swim aerobics. I don't like all the teachers so I try to pick the days of the teachers I like. I would use the equipment but I need someone to set me up on the machines. I have asked several times but never seem to get an appointment.
I like the diversity of the programs, the offering all day long including week-ends, the spirit of the people at the Palo Alto YMCA.
The facility is roomy and beautiful, the staff are highly personable, and the equipment is great.
