The hatha classes I attend at KB studio are excellent. The instruction is clear, the mindfulness teaching and breathing techniques are very transformational. I feel safe and comfortable there.
The staff was very welcoming. I appreciated the little “tour” of the studio since it was my first time there. The teacher taught a very high quality class that day.

Limits on class sizes
Sempereviva is (really) big. Four studios with large spaces with lots of classes, (and choice).
Downside: compared to most smaller studios Semperviva lacks a feeling of community.
I think there is an untapped opportunity. Adjustments: Some classes are predictably large and well attended. Experiment with having a second (new) instructor in the room assisting the teacher who goes around doing simple adjustments. It adds a personal touch.
Consider a studio on the East side or close to the Main Street Skytrain Station. I don't think there are any studios north of 7th. A studio in this area would catch Commercial Drive, and Strathcona and the new St Paul's hospital.

The location/view at the sea studio is great! I also like that yoga mats are provided for you. I don’t love the carpet at this studio though.
Free mat rental is great!
Julia's workshop was amazing! She is wonderful, super knowledgeable, kind and full of wisdom.

Very good
The studios are clean. The props are clean. The mats are clean enough and the cleaning agent used now (in the spray bottles ) seems to get rid of foot stink the best of any. Cel phone problems seem to come and go. I don't like seeing people use them in the studio. But I guess they're freaked out somebody will steal their phone. The loss of teachers Danny Chow & Mike Nichol hit hard; they provided a very spiritual vinjasa flow class. There is, generally speaking, an excellent line up of teachers who really understand their craft.

The instructors and availability of classes
I feel welcome at Semperviva. The staff is friendly and unpretentious. I love the space that Teresa holds for us. She is magical! She is honest and strong and gentle. I need this community of women and babies. It is a source of strength and support for me. It feels like home.
