Love the Pilates and menopause class. Would like to see more Pilates and yoga classes. Love the 1/2 to 45 minute strength classes too. Maybe a heated vinyasa class would be nice. Also would love an infrared sauna too
I like the aquatics program. It has great instructors and the participants really enjoy the class.
The pool is my only activity at the Y. My grandson loves the swim lessons!
It is a nice environment to exercise in plus there is a variety of different machines to use in the pool it’s nice too
Water exercise is great. All the kids programs are great! Alex is wonderful and Roubins runs fabulous swim classes for kids.
Ashley is a fabulous instructor- she teaches both my kids. They're in different age groups and she tailors her classes to make them fun and engaging for both ages. My 3.5 year old loves making "silly bubbles" and is so proud of the skills he's learning. My 1.5 year old loves singing songs, splashing, and jumping in the pool.
I like the instructors, the exercises, the facilities and the friends I've made. I look forward to attending the various classes knowing as well as having fun that I'm helping my body stay fit.
My doctor said (on my last visit) "Whatever you're doing, keep doing it." That's a good enough recommendation for me to keep going to the 'Y'.

Parents should be able to stay on the pool benches and watch their children swim

Variety
The space is great and the staff are too! I've enjoyed personal training sessions, weight training on my own, TRX, and Yoga classes. Thanks!
great people working there!
Good instructors
Class variety. Lots of training. Friendly staff
I would highly recommend Fitness for Menopause with Nicole. She is a very experienced physical trainer as well as nutritionist. Her workouts are intense and hit every muscle group. I am always sore but it’s a good sore. She sends amazing emails discussing nutrition and proper training for women in menopause (or through it). I will probably retake this.
Friendly instructor that finally has my child excited to learn to swim.
Beneficial physically and socially!
I as an 80 year appreciate the lap swimming available in the noon, afternoon periods. All of my swims have been at the Melrose Y.
Have used Melrose and Saugus for stationary bike exercise and have found ample bikes and space for my exercise reading time.
Prefer Saugus for the bike because of the parking and amount of space and available equipment or that there are fewer users: ggod for me not your ideal.
Both have been clean and staffs esp. Saugus very welcoming. Have had to mention lack of soap in the showers back in Dec. and January. After 6+ weeks vacation all good in March.
Easy! Great instructors. I like the program lengthand the class length
My grandson has been taking swim lessons at the Melrose YMCA. He has enjoyed going to class and has had a positive experience there!
Swim instructors are friendly, hard working and kind!
The Group Ex offers so many options, and appeals to many age group.

Only use the gym with machines and weights and love it!
This is community centered and family friendly resource. It's fitness center is easy to use, and the range of activities available to children, adults, and families is extensive.
