I love my trainer Lauren Sanford - she provides the best instruction, motivation, and tailors all of our work toward my unique goals. I am now lifting more than my body weight with lower body compound movements, I am increasing my upper body strength at a consistent pace, and I feel set up for success every time I step into the gym. I can't think of a better partner for my fitness journey.
I've been in the Tuesday night section of Menopause Fitness with Nicole Wade since September 2024, and my work there has been life changing. Can I do a proper hip thrust now? Yes! Can I do a military press with a pre-weighted bar? Yes! Can I do good mornings, squats, and deadlifts? Yes! Did I think I could do any of this before I started this class? No! Nicole is our fairy godmother of fitness, and every session with her is a declaration of "I can and I will!"
Accessibility to swimming is fantastic! The lifeguards are awesome - always alert and available.
Great fitness classes with good teachers. Very clean in the fitness center.
Right now I am only using the gym. I like the gym very much. I always find a machine and I can go at my own pace. Some days I excercise for more than an hour; and other times I excercise for about 30- 45 minutes. I am trying to get into some classes; but want to make sure I get into a class for my age group and ability . I will be 70 in June.

Rubens, Rubens, Rubens!!! The best Aquatics director and instructor ever! He makes time to address any special needs or requests both in the water and out. Runs a wonderful water exercise class with lots of laughs and fun and smiles. Great exercise tailored towards our different needs. Totally open to suggestions. The Y community is lucky to have him! Always happy always courteous always friendly!
Scott runs an incredible Monday night class. Great work out with lots of fun and variety. Super, super nice and accommodating. Look forward to this every week. It fills up for a reason. Scott is just great and so is his class. Can't say enough nice things about him!
Working one-on-one with Stefanie Graves since July has been a life-changing experience for me. She is gifted, knowledgeable, and most importantly, encouraging and motivating. Her gentle, realistic approach to our sessions is exactly what I needed as a busy, working mom of two who has never really invested significant time in weight training. Additionally, the beautifully remodeled facility is bright and inviting.

Teachers are great. Early morning times are perfect. As long as the water is warm I love it!
Lessons are great, but the family locker rooms need to be more functional when there are large groups of kids. There need to be benches that fit across the whole width of every changing stall not just 2 of them. There should also be a bench outside the stalls for kids done changing to put on shoes so other families can get in and change. There are always lines of freezing kids waiting for a room to change. Younger kids aren't allowed in the single sex locker rooms so this pushes everyone onto the family locker rooms and the new second family locker room has too few changing stalls and kids aren't supposed to change out in the open for good reason.
Brand new facility. I've found the staff to be very friendly and attentive. App works well, the virtual live classes have been good as a new member to get oriented.
I love the community feel, the clear scheduling, and the proximity to home for me. Always accessible and the right amount of support is available without being overwhelming.
Hearing the music when I'm on the treadmill helps my workout. But the music is never loud enough. You can hardly hear it.
Bringing in my Iphone is very inconvenient for me. I don't have a lock for a locker. Just need to be able to hear the music that the Y plays.
The Aquatics programs are top notch. The guards are awesome and super friendly and they thrive on keeping us safe. The front desk personnel are so helpful and informative. A special thanks to Rubens for taking over the Tuesday and Thursday 1pm classes. He had big shoes to fill and he has stepped up with grace and created a super energetic and beneficial water exercise class. He added a great selection of music to keep us going and some fun at the end of class always. His instruction is detailed and perfect for any level of ability. He takes any input seriously and also makes allowances for those of us that need extra time or a slower pace. He keeps us motivated and moving. But most of all he keeps us coming back with a smile on his face that is truly infectious! Thanks Rubens!!! You are a gem and we are lucky to have you as our instructor!
Options have improved.

I mostly like the sense of community the attitude of the YMCA; it rubs off on its members! The schedule is flexible and the instructors are very thoughtful and experienced.
