Kids learn different tools or life skills. I think camp helps with their maturity levels . Camp is a great opportunity.
Variety of amazing activities and great counselors. Also love that there is an optional horse camp available. This is our second year and already looking forward to the third.
I loved how all of the programs and activities were very well organized. It made me feel comfortable as a parent being able to know what my children were doing during the course of the day. It gave me a since of peace. My children had so much fun and was definitely not ready to come back home. Thank you camp weaver for such great memories.
My daughter loved the counselors!
Opening campfire was one of her favorite things and she loved the cabins and the meals
Water activities and ropes courses
The variety of activities and the structure the kids have to learn independence and teamwork.
Beat camp ever!
I love that this camp allows children who wouldn't otherwise get to go to camp a chance to attend with scholarships. I also like that they let former campers do the CIT program.
My daughter loved it. She went with a friend, and they raved about all the fun activities. She’ll definitely be back next year, hopefully for an overnight camp.
I love that everything is designed and organized to keep children and young people disconnected from the devices, my son was happy to meet more young people and all the different activities he did, the staff was very friendly and responsible, I give them a 100, thank you .

All outdoors activities, accomodating, password for check out, very nice and friendly camp counselors! Please continue to provide healthy food options for the kids, and we loved that all was cooked on site - this is a big selling point for us. Our daughter had a BLAST! She cannot wait to come back next year!
My kids had a great time! They were excited to go back each day and loved everything
I love that my child is able to be outdoors most of the day. She learns new things every day and the program is kind and inclusive. She loves the food, activities, people, and animals too! I love that she feels safe at Camp and is never bored (but not overly stimulated either!). There is minimal to no screen time or electronics and the staff really care about her.
My kids were excited to attend camp every day. There is a wide variety of activities to keep them interested and engaged! They can’t wait until next year.
The getaway. No electronics and multiple activities
My daughter is always engaged at Camp Weaver. Every day she has a new story to tell us.
Our kiddos have attended Camp Weaver overnight camp each year since 2020. A school organized overnight camp trip in 2019 prompted their wish to change from their previous overnight camp (out of state) to come to Camp Weaver. They have loved camp for the lake, the pool, the horses, the cabins, Uncle Ray's cooking, the traditions, the a/c and the independence. This particular summer, the camper experience was really amazing in many ways - the campers in our kiddo's cabin all got along with no drama which was especially soothing and pretty wonderful. Things that were missed this summer included traditions from the past. For example, wearing the previous summer camp counselor colored t-shirt was a little thing but it really mattered to their anticipation of coming to camp. We usually send the kids to camp in June, week 2. This year, we sent just one of our kiddos to camp and she came at end of July. She thought that maybe the counselors were more spunky and enthusiastic in June vs how it felt this July. Most importantly, though, our camper felt safe and at home during camp. When we picked her up from camp, she already asked if we had signed her up for summer 2024.
The many and wide-variety of activitites. Loved that mountain biking was offered and that bikes were supplied. And that it was a daily activity! This was my son's favorite. Having A/C in the cabins seemed like a welcome luxury, especially given the high temps that week. "The Blob" in the lake was a huge hit, as was the food.
My children reported that they had such a great time so many different outdoor experiences, and met so many new friends. I'm thankful for Camp Weaver it's a great Growing Experience is for adolescent children.
Fun, engaging, and exciting! My kids thoroughly enjoyed camp this year and we are definitely going to register them next year!

I am the family sponsor for the Adil family, refugees from Afghanistan. Mirwais, their eldest son, was given a scholarship to attend by the Y. We are so grateful for giving him this opportunity. He had never been away from home before going to camp. This would be the first time that he would be the only Afghan in a group setting. I was concerned before camp that he might get homesick, he might not be able to get along with the other children, and that other children may pick on him. All fears were extinguished when I picked him up Friday following his camping experience. He was so excited! Telling about all the adventures he had, how wonderful the staff was, and how he loved interacting with the other campers. He said he can't wait to go back next summer! I had never heard him speak so much English!
Thank you for bringing so much joy and happiness for a child who has experienced so much trauma and grief in the past. A true welcome to the USA was provided by Camp Weaver.
Bless you, Rev. Mike Aiken, Rotary Club of Greensboro, Afghan Team Leader
