I like that the locker room doesnt smell like sewage and the showers give more privacy.
The Silver Sneakers classes offer me an excellent opportunity to keep in shape physically and to enjoy myself socially, as I have made many close friends in the sixteen years I have been attending these classes. Other classes such as Senior Boot Camp and Chair Yoga contribute immensely to my physical well-being and my mental acuity. The instructors are all excellent and obviously enjoy their work. They are the reason I make the effort to go to class even on days when I just don't feel like leaving the house. I do make that effort and always come home feeling one hundred percent better.
I had open heart surgery a couple of years ago and my doctors couldn't believe how quickly I was able to sit up and move around. That was thanks to Lynda and the squats we did in every class as well as the excellent cardio and strength training in the various classes I was taking at the Y.
Good equipment that is well maintained and clean locker rooms.

I love going to the wellness room in the afternoon to use the machines. I also love the yoga classes. The Halloween party for the children with decorations is also a charming community event. Oh yes I forgot the pool! Love that too.
The Birmingham Y is always clean and your employees at the front desk are pleasant and knowledgeable.
