Very good instructors
There are activities for all ages. Instructors are knowledgeable and tend to make everyone feel comfortable regardless of your level of physical ability.
Great grounds, woods, facility. Would be great if a sauna and/or 104 degree hot tub were added. Also it would be great if the coffee station could be brought back.
Clean, frienly atmosphere
Friendly staff and clientele. Clean facility. The machines are maintained in good working order. Getting to know other members. It not only gives you the opportunity for a good work out but it offers a sense of belonging and feeling important to the overall operation.

I Have been a Y member for most of my life. Growing up in Wisconsin and then moving to Michigan when I was 23. I joined the Y as it had a great pool for lap swimming and a great variety of activites as well as diverse members.
I enjoy meeting kind people of all different ages and ethnicities. Everyone is welcome at the Y and I have met wonderful people there. The Staff is very kind and positive. There is a community feeling at the Y. When a member states an issue or a concern the staff takes notice and helps remedy the situation. A recent example is that we needed more lifeguards so there were more options to swim during the week. The Farmington Y was able to secure more lifeguards and give its members what we had requested.

Very spacious, very clean and the locker room and gym amenities are fantastic! I can come here and feel totally comfortable during my workout, no judgy eyes like your average gym. I will always pick YMCA over any other places!

The pool is EXCELLENT. warm. spacious lanes. showers are great. Nice hot water. Down to earth staff. YOU CANNOT PAY ME TO GO TO LIFETIME.
