Fun times for our daughter!
All staff I’ve met have been great, and my grandson really enjoys his time at the program every day.
I love our swim instructor. Every session she makes
Sure she gives each child individual attention. She makes sure each child’s needs are being addressed. Ms Nancy always has a smile on her face and a welcoming warm environment. I honestly couldn’t ask for a better swim instructor for my son.
The swim classes have been everything my son has needed and the instructor is fantastic. After many trails and error this has been the only time we have had even a inclination of success. I would recommend 100%.
We used to take swim lessons at Goldfish but I like the swim lessons at the YMCA better! My water-timid son gets a lot more attention and actual swim time at the Y. Ms. Nancy has been a great teacher for my son.
Avery has loved her experience at YMCA after school and kids club at LVO!
It is a very beautiful place to enjoy with the family with the different. Spaces that you can enjoy
good selection of classes
the people who work at the salem ymca are hospitable friendly and warm. they make the visits extra ordinary
The Salem Y is a great city fitness center that excels at building community and helping you meet your goals. They have great classes and knowledgeable fitness instructors. The small group training is wonderful. The pool and lifeguards are always alert and friendly to members. The front desk staff is consistently welcoming when I arrive and they say goodbye when I leave. The executive staff is always quick to respond to questions and suggestions.
Great facilities for my needs... Ample free weight and multiple squat racks... Good pool... Friendly staff. Only real concern is age and state of men's locker room facilities.
Staff is friendly and reliable, activities are creative, my kid loves it.
Safe, fun, and secure on-campus care for my child. Staff is wonderful. Very pleased. We're thinking of having our daughter go to the downtown facility for more options.
We love the sense of community at the Y
Good resource for the community
I love the Y! Brought my mother as a guest for an aquafit class and we both enjoyed it. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Locker room was very clean. Overall a great experience. Can't wait to come back (although I may use the Marblehead Y during October, when Salem is crazy). Thanks!
Dunno but my kid seems happy
I like every thing about it . The part I'm most happy about it's seeing the happiness on my daughter's face and how exciting she talk about the program really love it and recommend for every one.
I love them and my girls feel happy and safe. The activities are excellent.
Me encanta 🥰
Enjoy classes and pool. gym. People are polite and friendly
The daycare program is fantastic! Over the past 30 years I have had three children enrolled from infant to toddler to after school care & summer camp and I can't say enough good things about all of it. Very pleased & always mention to others.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The facilities were clean and nice.
Great classes and staff.
It has excellent class offerings and a strong sense of community and kindness.
The Salem Y is a fantastic place for too many reasons to list here, BUT I have a "critique". There are too many (usually younger) members, who, when using the weight room, will be finished with their set on a machine, and then just remain sitting on it, playing with their phone or confabulating with their friends, while others are waiting patiently to use that equipment. I'm talking FOR TWENTY MINUTES OR LONGER! Wouldn't anyone find this unacceptable? I don't want to say anything to another gym member but maybe the staff could hang a sign politely reminding members not to hog the machines if they're not using them (for their intended purpose). There's plenty of places to just "hang out".
I love the wide variety classes. It's very convenient being downtown. In wish there c was a juice bar or something for an after workout treat. That said, it's awesome.
I find myself at the Salem Y more and more these days. I got out of the habit of exercising over the summer but once you [re-]enter the Y's welcoming doors, everythiing is there to help you get back into leading a healthier life, from spin classes to core strength classes and yoga, to the pool and all that offers, to volleyball and other sports. The staff offers some out-of-the-box experiences too, such as Sound Healing and Restorative Yoga and a new LiveStrong group. As well as all that, if you have little kids, there is babysitting so that you can relax while taking care of yourself. Plus, the Salem Y has a sliding scale for their monthly fees so that almost everyone can become a member. Being a member is a win/win sitation for the community and the members.
Friendly, helpful staff.

The WHES Y Afterschool program is phenomenal. The kids always want to stay later when I go to pick them up. They have so many choices for the kids and allow them to choose what they want to do. The staff could not be kinder or more helpful. Everything from sign up, to pick up, to any questions or issues, they are top notch. Thank you all for all you do!!
