The Gloucester Y is very well managed, always clean locker rooms and workout areas. The pool class schedule is very accommodating for early morning lap swimmers.

What do you like about our program and activities?

I am very happy with the ELC preschool. My son has been going there for 3 years and he loves his teachers and all staff.

I love the Y, the instructors, the staff and members. It’s a pleasant and friendly place to hang out with people of like interest. Great place to make new friends and the instructors are awesome. Plus, a great variety of classes and equipment are available for all levels.

I love the facility and the price! Truly enjoy the community feel and how easy it is to settle in! I wish there were more class times available for adults in the middle of the day, but otherwise everything is lovely!

We were impressed with our initial tour ( Celia) and information she enthusiastically provided.
AND...then, when we signed up ( husband and I) we continue to use and enjoy getting to know the Y each morning, The facility is great:( well equipped, clean, nicely laid out and with SOOOO many opportunities for classes etc) and staff ( friendly, helpful, informative) are as Celia described. We are VERY pleased to have made the switch from the NS24 ( MAC satellite 24/7 gym in Gloucester) to the Y. The Mac, just so you know, had become less clean, had issues with remote entry ( and early a.m. workouts are what we do so remote entry problems were a problem) and the equipment was getting tired and not being repaired as needed.

We are very pleased as new Y members

Having seen the Cape Ann Y ebb and flow over the last 10 years, it is encouraging to see the direction they're headed. Thank you to the fitness leadership staff and to the membership leadership staff for working so hard! We see your hard work as a community. For the sports, youth, camp, and family programs, continue to develop your consistent programming and leadership and it'll be exciting to see you flourish too!

Because it’s local and brand new. However I find your website and sign up process for classes very confusing. There’s got to be a better way than having to set your alarm on your watch to sign up 24 hours before the class or you either don’t get in or you get on a waiting list. How about adding more classes, such as Pilate reformer classes.

Friendly staff and beautiful clean facility.
Need to have more exercise classes to reduce waitlisting and class size as well as adding classes like tai chi and simple calisthenics for older men. More window shades also needed in upstairs gym area.
