Coach Thomas is great.
Great place in Gloucester
I started my granddaughter Annalise with swimming lessons last year at the age of 6. She did not have any swimming experience. She was very timid and anxious. I really appreciate the instructors sensitivity to her fears and the encouragement that they give her. They do a great job teaching all ages and skill level in the same class.
This September she was especially anxious about starting lessons again. She still is not able to put her head totally under water and doesn't want to give up her last bubble ( though I know she is able to swim without it.)
The good news is that she started a class with Adam three weeks ago and because of his style of teaching, super positive, animated and fun, Annalise's anxiety level has dropped significantly. I even catch her smiling and having fun.
Caring instructors that work very hard
They are great for young kids just starting out in their journey of engagement.
friendly and supportive staff, clean and bright environment and excellent equipment and classes
It’s friendly, informative and clean
Very likely!
Love the vibe. Love the classes and staff.
The Cape Ann Y is staffed by incredibly nice people, and the pool there is beautiful.
The pool is great....very important for movement, and in the water you don't hurt your joints as much...
Well trainer staff who are eager to help with a smile.
Great variety of classes.
Facility is clean.
Friendly helpful staff, clean facilities, lots of new equipment, fair pricing.
The highest state of the art equipment, most, most dedicated professionals, and safe, clean space.
Totally changed my life!
It's a great facility. Lots of options upstairs. Great pool. Nice staff. Clean.
The facility provides anything and everything any person looking for a comfortable exercise center could possibly want.
One negative comment however, which accounts for my rating of “9” instead of “10”: the “ambient” music is absolutely horrible! For the most part it is a collection of insipid 1970s dribble that is relentlessly played over and over again day after day! Surely the Y has access to better music services or to conventional radio stations! Also, at the very least, it can now and then change the type of music. In fact, this Y member is so unhappy with this music that a termination of membership is being considered. The reader might ask: “why doesn’t this person use earphones and thereby choose own music?” Well, in my case, the use of private earphones is not an option due to a tinnitus condition. I hope the Y heeds my complaint because I am sure mine is not the only one regarding this issue.
I love the instructors, and I love the members. All are so nice, helpful, non-judgmental. The facility is clean. There are so many things to choose from! (Why is everything I want to do at 10:30?) : )
Something for everyone in a friendly and easily accessible environment
I enjoyed the friendliness of everyone that I encountered there. How clean and bright the facility is. I liked the instructor whom I thought was very well prepared and very knowledgeable about her subject matter.
The facilities are top notch. But it’s the people that work here that everybody’s talking about. Such skilled instructors, such knowledgeable people. I feel like we’re in good hands.
